I am trying to post a photo of my cats to appear in either the signature box or the subject box of my postings, but so far all that posts is the links which need to be clicked to see the photo, but the actually photo doesn't automatically upload into my signature box or subject box.

How do I solve this problem?

Thank you.

This is what I mean: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0BdTN ... sp=sharing

I have google drive, and just played with it a bit. I didn't have any luck either, linking it onto a message here. My guess is that google drive just isn't meant to act as a photo host for forums and such. One clue is that it wants to give you secure (https) urls for shared pictures, which sites like this don't seem to deal with too well.

My suggestion is to sign up for a site meant to work in this capacity (a personal website, or image shack, photobucket etc). The other way you can do it is to "attach" photos to your messages, which downloads them up to this forum. The downside to that is that you are limited to smaller pictures and you can't attach the pictures to your profile or signature.

Oh... one other thing I should have mentioned is that when you do get your pictures up on a sharing site, you don't just simply paste url's into your messages. When you are in the file editor you click on the little icon with the mountain and the sun (4th one from the right), and paste your url into the popup box. That helps give you the correct markup for this forum. But like I said... that still doesn't help you with your problem right now, because it still won't work with google drive :(

Thank you! I am not sure what you mean by file editor and mountain and sun icon, but I will look around for those.

I'm still confused. I uploaded my photo to imageshack.com and now the signature page just shows the link to imageshack.com instead of showing the photo itself.

What should I do now? Thanks!Image

Oh good! At least my photos are now showing up in the body of the message just not the signature line, so all I need help on doing is making my photos show up in the signature line at the bottom.

Thanks!

Excellent! For the signature, you just do the same thing (it's the same editor as when you create a message. You either use the "mountain and sun" icon or just type in the "img" markup around your url.

If that is the photo that you want to use in your signature though, you should heavily crop it vertically. Otherwise you'll have this MASSIVE sig that fills up entire pages when you contribute to threads

P.S. you've inspired me to update my avatar... muahahahaha

Nice avatar!

After following your directions and finagling a bit with a free image editor, iPhoto, then imageshack, I finally got it to work! Thanks!

It was worth the blood, sweat and tears!

I tried to include a signature, but I got this message:
It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.

Is there a specific size we should use for a signature?

It sounds like you uploaded a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and asked it to make that your signature

Try making a highly compressed jpg that is like less than 100 pixels in height, and you should be fine I'm guessing.
