Post subject: Cat Proofing a garden
PostPosted: Sun Mar 23, 2008 6:06 pm
Well,

I'm going to move house in a few months & I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience of cat proofing a garden, Namely the top of the fences.

If I can't cat proof it I might just build a large cat run.

Cheers Jim

i tried lots of different methods of topping off the fences, all of which failed
the best thing is to go for something specifically made for the purpose, katzecure or purrfect fencing for example...but i still don't trust them 100%. i think the safest bet is a fully enclosed cat run

Hi

I have been considering fencing, i typed in cat enclosures into google and got some great ideas. There was this site which claim to have the answer
http://www.catterydesign.com/links/secu ... encing.php maybe that will be of help. Could be expensive

that's the purrfect fencing i mentioned lol
i'm not sure on securing it tho, especially with boisterous bengals. what happens when you have to run it over a footpath?

nothing would surprise me lol

the bit i can't picture in my mind is when it comes to pinning it into the ground...fine along mud or grass, but what happens when you hit the concrete footpath? you can't pin the netting into that & i'd be concerned the cats would be able to crawl under if it wasn't secured to the ground. i'd love to see the stuff in use somewhere so i could get a better idea of how well it was secured.
