Hi

Doonies farm is a model farm owned by Aberdeen Council in Scotland.
It houses 300 birds and animals, many of which are rare breeds.
The Rare Breeds Survival Trust work with the farm in trying to conserve these animals. It is open to the public and is a great educational tool for kids.

The Council are making "savings" and have deemed that the farm will close and the animals will be auctioned off.

I've made a page about it

places like this are important not only for the preservation of rare breeds which may otherwise be lost, but also to help children to experience how to love, care for and appreciate animals. hopefully if enough people speak their minds & show their support it will help the council reconsider.

i've signed the petition.

I would love to sign it, but I don't think they will allow or accept the signature from someone from the states. :( I hope that the council will reconsider...it sounds like a great place.
