I just wanted to say hi to you all. I'm the owner of Meisha, a gorgeous 3.5 year old spotted Bengal who had a rough start in life. We got her from a rescue home in December 2006 and haven't looked back!

She was extremely nervous and timid for the first few weeks, her behaviour was so strange that she didn't seem like a cat. She never mieowed, hardly washed and dashed fearfully from hiding place to hiding place. I was concerned about how we were going to cope with her and whether her behaviour would improve but slowly she's been growing in confidence and is now the most loving, funny, intelligent cat. I now understand all the fuss about Bengals and their vocal, high-energy personalities :D

I'm looking forward to sharing stories and advice with you all.

Sas

Hi guys

I have ordered 'da dragonfly' toy as recommended on here - I think Meisha will go mad for it!! It seems a great forum for good advice and friendly people.

Tally-Isham, I would love another Bengal, but with Meisha's past I think she needs as stable a life as possible now & I'm just not sure how she would be with a little friend :D She also seems to love being the centre of attention so she might not like having to share us. As there's no way of knowing how she'd react I'm not sure whether to chance it...

Tigger, what did the vet say? Awww, 4 months... he must be gorgeous! Have you got any photos?

Sas

Hi Sas, Meisha is a lovely name! Glad you found the forum and are enjoying it. This is the one I was on most of the time before I found the You and Your Wedding one! Stella x

Hi Stella

Thanks for recommending this forum to me. Meisha is our first (but not our last!) Bengal and no one else we know has Bengals so it's lovely to find somewhere to share experiences and find good information. Meisha is a nice name - we didn't pick it though, it was her name when we met her at the rescue centre. Tilly and Suki are gorgeous. Are they your first Bengals?

I don't know how I'm going to get any work done with the time I now spend on here and YAYW!

Tilly was my first Bengal. I wanted a cat when we moved into our new home and just came across Bengals on the internet by chance. I got Tilly when she was about 18 months old and bought her off another owner as she had to move house and was selling her. I always wanted a second though and bought Suki from a breeder in Scarborough last summer. I'm now thinking, mmm..three might be nice. Dont think h2b thinks so though! x

Did they always get along ok or was it difficult introducing Suki to Tilly?

 You can never have enough cats!! I don't think my other half is keen on the idea of another one... it took me over a year of persuasion for Meisha! x
