Have you ever let your cats have ice cream? I never had, I didn't think they would go for a dairy product. Last night I made a vanilla ice cream cone with lactose free ice cream. Blondie came right up and daintily put her tongue on it to give it a try. She closed her eyes and took a few more licks before Grace appeared demanding her turn. Grace's eyes glazed over and this long tongue appeared and forcefully lapped at the ice cream. She loved it! It was almost comical to see her intense look while lapping the ice cream. Obviously this is not good for them since there is sugar in it. Does anyone know about the doggie ice cream? That must be sugar free. I wonder if it is okay for cats?? Not as a regular thing but once in a while...

Guilty! If I treat myself to a mini magnum on the very rare occasion its warm enough in our UK summers, I do save a little bit on the stick and let them finish it off - and then they run off with the stick lol

Hasn't done them any harm so far and I doubt it was lactose free either...

When I was a child I used to let me dog and cats finish off my ice cream. They absolutely loved it.

My kittens love cheese. I found this out when I dropped some on the floor they loved it and were crying for more!

Not really sure whether it's bad for them.

As long as it is only very occasionally I can't see the harm!

I don't buy ice cream (or make it) so I've never tried giving it to Raiden. He simply is not interested in people food, although my husband did drop some cooked chicken on the kitchen floor and Raiden ate it before he could pick it up.

Oh yeah, Blondie and Grace are like a couple of jackals when food is around. If something drops, it evaporates within seconds.

Thomas doesn't like dairy products except for cheese, but the little dsh loves anything milk related. She used to drink milk every day for a while. Which was good, because she was underweight and it helped her put on some weight. She likes to stick her head in the bowl after I eat ice cream and lick the melted ice cream off the sides of the bowl. But I'm careful about the flavor involved, no chocolate for sure.
