I'll have an update tomorrow as to whether the vet thinks Dahab can get a feeding tube put in.
I honestly don't see the difference between a 3-month wait for an import permit and a 6-month wait. If the wait were 3 months, he would have been here with me. I could have taken care of him everyday.

I hope you will keep us posted on how your baby is doing! He needs to get a whole lot better so he can travel to be with you. {{{HUGS}}}

OK, well, bad news. My sweet angel face, stinky butt passed away last night.
He didn't even get well enough for the vet to put the feeding tube in.
I can't imagine how lonely he was without me there to pester the vet and make sure he had his pillow and blanket and his tuna.
I can't help but think that he felt lost without me there.
He just gave up. Not even a week after they found the tumor in his abdomen.
This is really f-in unfair.

Honestly, I'd never have taken a job as a manager at a brothel if I'd known this was going to happen.
I've been working since the 2nd week I've been in this country just to bring both of them over.
I swear it's so hard to be a responsible pet owner sometimes.

oh I'm so sorry to hear about Dahab

Please don't beat yourself up - it sounds like whatever it was, was aggressive.
I know that doesn't help, but you were trying to do the best for your babies, and that's amazing.
Go easy on yourself, and big hugs and much love from me x

I am so, so, so very sorry! These things happen, although you never want them to happen to your baby. I know how difficult it was to deal with this being tens of thousands of miles away. Hopefully, your other little baby will arrive soon and all will be well. Sending you more {{{HUGS}}}.

Is this weird? I have been watching Bengal kitten videos everyday. When Dahab was with me, I'd watch 1 every 2 months or so....I just feel like I can't focus or I'm restless or something if I don't watch 5 or 10 of them.

Definitely NOT weird!!! You are truly missing your babies. How much longer do you have to wait before the other one joins you?

Looking at cats definitely calms me down. I have to take a break from work every day to do just that.

Well, my dog, Lola is here. She arrived about 10 days after my cat died. We made it to Canberra, but she had to be quarantined for 10 days according to Australian regulations. I had also planned for my cat to join us (yes I changed his paperwork do it said mixed breed. Don't yell at me. He's fixed and a pet. I never planned to breed him.) My housemate is planning on moving to Jakarta and with me having 1 semester left to finish my Masters, I'll be renting my own place. I am also thinking of adopting a Bengal, but it looks like all the Bengals that need rehoming are based in the US or the UK...

Enjoy reading your updates. Glad your Lola finally joined the family! There are a lot of bengal breeders in Australia - Beckatt Bengals for one. Here is a directory. You may be able to find a retired adult that meets your needs.

There is also a Facebook page called "Bengal Rescue Australia". They are a not for profit group who help rehome Bengals.
There's a lovely boy on there at the moment called Dante. He's in Melbourne.
