Interesting article on finding remains of what they thing is the proof of the earliest domestication of cats...5300 years ago. Apparently humans loved there cats then to. The remains show the cat received nourishment other then hunting and the cats all lived quite a while...meaning humans had to tend to them.
I remember watching a show on Discovery about how dogs helped early humans survive. I always had thought the same with cats. Cats kill small animals which would wreck havoc on early farms, there friendly self sustaining. Other words a perfect match for humans. I know for my modern day ways I live in the US in the South where we have pretty wet weather. You tend to get occasional bugs in the house because of that. Never had a issue with that if I had a cat.
