Has anyone had a vet tamper with a claim form? policy holder has asked for them to be paid direct and pays the vet for the vet then to ask pet plan to pay them instead

I've had a go at pet plan for ignoring my signature and authorisation but as they've paid the vet they can't do anything about it. I now have to go to the vet to ask for my money back as they have been paid twice.

I'm SO annoyed it's not even funny.

Pet plan says it's my fault for letting the vets send the claim form off.

Wow that's pretty fraudulent behaviour

Good luck getting your money back. I'd be changing vets.

I've read that sentence about 5 times and still can't make heads or tails of it

But from the rest of it I get the gist of what is going on. It sounds like an honest but annoying mistake to me. I'm actually impressed that both petpan and your vet allow you the option of direct-billing the insurance company. The ones I've dealt with have always been: you pay the vet, the vet does you a "favor" by sending in your signed paperwork, and you get a check back a week or two later. You are very lucky in that respect!

This was a specialist vet that I won't be seeing ever again, but I called them this morning and apparently they only got the payment from petplan yesterday although petplan told me it was paid into their account on the 22nd but anyways, they're issuing me a cheque.

Oh and no explanation as to why they changed it from pay policyholder (which is what I filled out considering I paid them) to pay vet. No apology or anything.
