my now daily breakfast routine...I didn't really want toast anyway....

Get the kettle, lift the cat out the sink, turn the tap on, lift the cat out the sink, fill the kettle, turn tap off and lift cat out of sink, dry cat.

Open the curboard, reach for cup, lift the cat out the cuboard, get cup, lift cat out cuboard again and close door.

Open other cuboard, reach for coffee, lift cat out the cuboard, reach for coffee again, put coffee on worktop, lift cat out cuboard again and reach for sugar

Put sugar and coffee in cup, clean up worktop cause cat put her paws in sugar dish, put cat on floor, put lid back on sugar, chase cat for lid off coffee jar, reach for cuboard to put coffee and sugar away, lift cat out cuboard, put stuff away, lift cat out again and close door

While kettle is boiling put some toast in toaster, chase cat and get back the slice of bread she stole, ugh butter is in the fridge, open fridge!! remove cat, reach for butter, remove cat again and close door.

Attempt to butter toast while cat sticks nose in butter tub, reach for fridge, put butter away, remove cat from fridge and close door. Turn back to toast to find cat licking butter from toast!!

Pour hot water in coffee cup, give cat toast and collapse knackered on couch.

lol I wish I could but my kitchen door is made up of lots of little glass panels and when my son accidently put his foot thro one of the bottom ones in the middle I had this clever idea of not replacing it as it made a handy little door for the cats to get in and out of the kitchen to their food and water without the dogs able to get through to steal it. So there is no way of keeping the kitten out when I am cooking atm.

It's so cute tho she is so used to using it that even when the door is open she thinks she has to go through the hole still to get into the kitchen and it's hilarious when the door is right open again the wall, she bangs her head on the wall trying so hard to come in lol. The other cats just sit there and look at her like she's lost the plot.

Great minds think alike (or is it fools never differ?!) - my doors are also glass panelled and I have the middle one on the bottom missing so that the cats can get through! It was a good idea when I had my previous moggies but I now realise it has the effect of making the house totally open plan to Bengals.

The description of getting breakfast is oh so familiar to me :D :D

Cat's and butter, have no idea what that's all about but it came in handy taking my New Years photos. Little butter on the rim of the beer bottle did the trick!

Speaking of which - If you have a buttered piece of toast and you drop it, it always falls buttered side down... If a cat falls it always lands on it's feet...

What happens if you tie buttered toast to a cat and drop it? *shrug*

That sounds like a valid suggestion for a science experiment. I'll get back to you tomorrow with the results!

Preparing breakfast is not a problem as they usually have their nose in their own food, but then when I'm eating my cereals, Onyx comes on my knees and tries to drink the milk in my bowl... now he's understood he's got to wait until I have finished (then I'll let him lick the last few mL) but before, he was always trying to lower my bowl with a paw...

And of course if I let the bowl unattented, I come back to 2 naughty cats, nose in it

Hahahaha, there's some funny stories there!

I always eat breakfast once I get to work, now I've got a Begal I realize that was a good decision

I sometimes wonder what the neighbours would think if they could see me eating my wheetabix in the morning whilst standing up in the middle of the room, holding the bowl above my head to prevent invasion by Dolly :D :D

Ha! Ha! I have the same problem with our two. In fact, I was making some dumplings the other day when the phone rang. I ran over to the other side of the kitchen to answer it temporarily leaving the dumpling mixture unattended. BIG MISTAKE! I returned to my mixture only to find both of them covered in flour and butter! Hobbes just stood there with both front feet firmly implanted in the bowl looking very pleased with himself - gotta love them
