I know it's not a Bengal, but whenever I walk into my cat's favorite store I see this guy's picture. He's really beautiful and has a bit of that wildtype face that Bengals are known for..

The breeder of my Bengals was also a champion Abyssinian breeder - don't think she mixed them (in breeding terms) but they were apparently very compatible in terms of temperament so they shared indoor space at times.

Hi Bob

You beat me to it  as I was about to say that they were used in the early stages. I think that's where a lot of the reddish colouring comes from on some bengals :?:

I know when I got my first bengal and looked at cat books I thought facially and colour wise my girl Ivana looked very aby :D

would there be some way to find a bengal that was made from an abby? i would really like our next silver spotted to have the abby look. I really think zigmund has that abby look, i used to have abbys when i was younger...

you can look up the cats in the pedigree, if they have been listed on bengalpedigrees.com you can trace them right back to the alc. unfortunately not all cats have been entered so you will find gaps & never know for sure what the complete ancestry is.

pick a bengal you would like a kitten from & look it up, you'll probably trace it or it's ancestors back to abbys somewhere along the line.

It is very addictive!!! I've spent hours there already!

I can see why you wanted to know what breed this is btw...gorgeous isn't she? I think I'll have a lookout for an Abby example at the next all-breeds show I visit.
