I am so sorry you had to witness something so tragic. I am gobsmacked that the owner of this poor cat didn't seem to care. Why have a cat if that's how you feel? It's beyond me.

Well done for being brave enough to take her out of the bin and bury her, I'm not sure I would have been!

Omg how horrifying !! I woulda probably passed out if I saw that !! Poor kitty !! I dont live anywhere near a road at all n thank god my rescued boy of 9 years stays at the house n mayb ventures 10 to 15 feet at most but I tried when I got him 2 keep him indoors but he woukd sit at the door n cry or run outside everytime the door opened but my other kittys were got as babies n they never go outside ever.

Bless you, David, for giving that cat a wonderful final resting place. This is now why I do not let my cat go outside. I was trying to befriend a skittish gorgeous long-haired orange and white kitty cat. Making great progress and then I found the cat dead on the side of the main road. My heart stopped! I was so sad. It didn't deserve that. Unfortunately, the cat was after a curve in the road, so I'm sure the driver never saw the cat in time to stop. I'm still heartbroken over it.
