I just thought I'd update my original post.
Spike is always coming up to me, keen to learn. So now he knows his left from his right. He can even perform multiple commands (three at once).
I knew he wasn't just learning a routine as I'd vary the commands. I'd ask him to give me his left, right, left paw. Or maybe right, right, left etc. Never repeating the same command consecutively. I was so surprised when I found he definitely knew his right from his left paw.
I really wish I started this when he was young. I can only imaging what a few years training could've accomplished

I've tried to get my Bengal to learn tricks, however he knows the treats are in my pocket, so he just goes straight for them. Does that make him more clever I wonder?
