Honey left me tonight :( http://www.rushdenpersianrescue.co.uk/ offered to take her in. Patsy has alot of experience with pedigrees, she's had experience with bengals. They will search extensively for the right home for her and I feel this was the best route to take.

Over the past 2 weeks, honey has been trying with the kids and even accepted tommy and rori back. It's like she knew she was going :(

I have this vision that she will be homed with an elderly couple, could see her loving that  either way, she will bring a lot of love to someone special.

i'm just sad :(

Doing the right thing for yourself, your children, and your pets does not always feel good. That stated, I'm hoping your visions for Honey come true and your sadness is replaced with happier memories.

aaaw sorry that you're feeling sad, I know it's a super hard decision to make, but in the long run it will be good for all of you :)

My heart goes out to you, I too hope your visions for her come true. Even with how you are feeling, I know you feel you have done the right thing for everyone involved. Take care, big hugs

Rori has been sat by the front room window, yowling LOUDLY, for the last hour, even tommy can't console her :( Hoping I can get her to relax and sleep, before a neighbor comes knocking lol

If it helps at all - we rehomed our bengal Khan from our local shelter almost 3 years ago when he was 6. We probably qualify as an elderly couple, since I'm in my late 60's and my OH in his 70's. They specified that he should be the only cat in the household and we absolutely adore him, he is the most loving cat.
Am sure Honey will find a another loving home too, and will bring as much pleasure to her new owners as Khan has for us. You're going through a difficult one, but it'll all come right in the end.

Chris.

I got Benji from CPL at the age of 6 1/2 to be an only cat and he is spoilt rotten!

......if I didn't have him I would have taken Honey like a shot!

I am sure there is a Honey shaped gap in someones life and a wonderful home for her out there.

Thank you, makes me feel a lot better. been having trouble sleeping tonight, honey would sleep at the end of my bed. Not used to the fact I can actually move and not hear a faded growling from a less than amused kitty :laugh2:

RPC kindly facebooked me last night, to say she had arrived. They said they could tell she was very much loved, that she is in fab condition and despite her lack of tolerance of the kids, she is a friendly and affectionate kitty.

I'm feeling good about this, just hard to swallow, your comments have been a lot of help x

It's good to hear that Honey's settling in nicely, I know you're still very sad but at least you have that comfort and you know you did the best for her.

I think you are brave to do the best for Honey, Rory can't have helped how, is she now?
I must have missed a posting as I thought you had people comming for her, but RPC seems a good centre. I looked at their website several times
before I found my kittens. Honey is such a lovely looking cat I'm sure she will find a good home quickly.
Best wishes

I did have a few people come and look at her but they were not suited. I even went to theirs to visit. 1 couple would only keep her outside, own enclosure etc but her husband has a mild allergy to cats, made me think WTF were they looking? another couple were out the house from 6am til 7.30pm monday-fri and tend to go away for weekends, said their neighbor would feed her but to me, that isn't the home I envisioned her to go to. Another couple already had a cat, as soon as they walked in the house, honey constantly growled at them.....she made her own decision there lol

I figured that it would be hard for me to let her go to someone and that RPC would be better at this adoption home check stuff etc.

She seems to be settled there, being pampered. She's getting the vet to look at her fatty lump, as it grows and shrinks with weight gain/loss. Although my vets said there was no point in operating, RPC would have a check up on her.

Rori seems fine, infact she is now a lot calmer and isn't as hyper but she's not depressed, she seems more 'free', tommy is still tommy lol

Rori moves about the house with much more confidence

Are you saying Rori reacted initially after her mother left, but is now feeling much more confidence after getting use to Honey gone?

Sorry, I got a big confused! Just trying to clarify!
