I went on a vacation to Tennesse in a cabin in the mountains for a week and ofcorse safari came with us  ! and on the ride home we stoped in atlanta Georgia to hear PEARL JAM! it was epic and safari stayed in the hotel room....we had to sneak him in hotel  ....that was great, i will be adding our TN mountain pics soon of safari he had a blast. heres some of him on the car ride & in the hotel... it was about a 8/9 hour drive and safari was really good....he did get a little winy but he he slept for the most part. :D

I just love the way he sits up like a little old man! Merlin does that when washing his bits by my nose in the morning.... Gross!

I am concerned you have him loose in the car when driving, though - It's not your driving, but the other idiots who might hit you that worry me!

YEAH he always sits like that all the time...one time he fell alseep in that postion it was funny  ....about the driving...i know its dangerous.....but we did put him in his carrier when we stoped and grabbed a bite to eat....where im from people ride with dogs all the time like its no big deal so i guess we are just used it. i know its illegal some places and it prob should be because it is a hazard especially if the animal were to get by the petals but we dont let safari get by the petals....plus he would cry & wine if i put him in that carrier for to long.

Aww he's such chilled little cat isn't he. Love the way he's so relaxed in the car. My two winge and winge whenever I have them in the car. I did have one cat that could be out of the cat box and just peacfully mooch around and sleep in cars...so much easier.

It's a bigger concern because he'd be safer if you got into a wreck if he were in his carrier.

He may be sat on your lap but cats are easily startled, a cat jumping around could easily cause an accident not just for you and your cat but other road users and pedestrians. Do you not have laws in the US regarding driving while in complete control of a vehicle?

nope we sure dont over here....as i mentioned before people bring there dogs with them everywhere they go....i work at a bank and we give out dog treats to all the dogs that come thru...also MOST cats are not the same as MY cat who is very familiar with the car and slept almost the entire car ride....and we also have no laws for texing and driving or being on the phone while driving...which has been a far worse distraction than a cat sleeping in my lap....

You do have laws regarding mobile phone use
Safety Laws in Louisiana:
Cell phone restrictions: All drivers younger than 18 are banned from any form of cell phone usePermit and intermediate license holders are banned from the use of hand-held cell phones All drivers, regardless of age, who are issued their first drivers license, are banned from cell phone usage for the first year
Texting restrictions:All drivers of all ages are banned from texting while behind the wheel

Anyway you obviously have no consideration for you, your cats or anyone elses safety so i'll leave it at that.

very good my friend.....but have you know it is also illegal to drink while driving....guess how many DUIS are in the paper every week...ALOT....so many people on the rode DO NOT follow the texing/calling rule what so ever....NO ONE listens to it....people are constantly on there phone while driving.... you may not see it because YOU are not from HERE! but i see it everywhere....a cat laying on my lap is not that big of a deal....are you allowed to listen to the radio where you are from??? if so that is horriable because the loud music could be a huge distraction and so could turning the knobes!
