Not sure if any of you have come across this - but yesterday's discovered that Tesco and Waitrose sell tea that contains valerian. The one I purchased from Tesco contains orange and some other ingredients.

It has the opposite effect on humans that it has on cats, so be warned. Last night when we tried it, the three were going crazy trying to figure out where this wonderful smell was coming from, and the boys kept chattering to ask where. Then they got a whiff of the tea, and I swear that the three of them were doing the cat equivalent of glue sniffing. Then they started rolling around and charging round the home.

In the meantime, the two of us started feeling drowsy, best nights sleep we have both had for a while. As our little ones do not come in the bedroom we were OK. Don't let your cat/s get near the tea if you have them on the bed as you will not get any sleep.

The tea is delicious as well, and although it says you can add milk, don't as it tastes better without. Have fun.

our previous flatmate had tea with valerian in it, he forgot they were in his suitcase until our two tried to get inside it and were rubbing themselves all over the suitcase  he said the tea was good with helping him relax - apparently the same cannot be said for cats!

Sounds look I should get my hands on this tea. Have had quite a few sleepless nights as Mr. Bauer is nocturnal. >:} Maybe if I drink some of this tea I can sleep though the kitty walking on my head at 3am. lol

Health-wise you are much better off. I am so caffeine dependent it's sad. I think I posted something on Facebook the other day that said "The problem with coffee is trying to make it when you haven't had any yet." Story of my life.
