I am getting another bengal kitten in 6 more looooong weeks. I was wondering does anyone know how long it will take for rosettes to open. He is really light in color almost silver but has very light brown on his face. I know the brown will spread out more as he gets older , I was just wondering about his spots. Right now he is almost five weeks old and he has really big very black spots. How can you tell if they will rosette. I know it has a lot to do with the parents but this is where I run into a problem. Mom has very few rosettes but big inky spots and dad has HUGE dougnut rosettes. He is the color of his dad but I cant tell if he will rosette. Has anyone had a kitten that has taken longer for their rosettes to open. BB my girl now had inky spots until she was about three weeks and then it took from three to 12 weeks for them to really open. It really doesnt matter Im not showing or breeding just more curious to see what you all have experienced. From looking at the other kittens posted on her the really nice rosette or show quality cats have their rosettes early, I guess what I am getting at is that I had the pick of the litter and he is the one for four that doesnt have rosettes yet , really wierd!!! maybe Romeo's mom or ted can come switch with! LOL just kidding but that is the type of bengal I am wanting!

Hehe switching isn't going to happen... especially since I don't have them yet! LOL! ;)

One of my boys is just now starting to show his rosettes (from pictures I'm receiving) and he's about 12 weeks old!

If your little guy is only six weeks old, give him some time...I bet he'll rosette. :) And if not, I'm sure you'll love him just the same!

Some coats can take a year to fully develop - I would expect to see rosettes by 9 weeks starting to hope - some are earlier, some at birth, you will just have to wait and see  do you have any photos?

Haha Ted! Ill meet you in california to get him! Just kidding they are both so beautiful! I dont have any current pictures all I have is one when he was first born that is the day I picked him out because of his huge inky spots. I get to go see him Wednesday so Ill take pics and post them. I do have a video that the breeder sent me on my cell but I dont know how to post it. He is really pretty, I guess I just dont have experience with little babies and how they will develope.Like you said with Teds boys its very clear that they have rosettes and I could see that when he first posted pics when they were still young. I have read that there should be some kind of idication that he will have rosettes by 6 weeks but with an untrained eye I have no idea. I asked the breeder and she said that usually when their rosettes develop later they "usually" have more clear and outlined rosettes but of course she cant promise me that he will rosette. I really cant complain she is giving me a really good deal on him and he has the perfect face and little round ears. He is just very different from BB my girl she was really brown almost rusty color when she was six weeks old and he is so light he almost looks like a silver but he is a brown. I dont know , I will post some pictures when I get them my breeder said she would try to send me some today but she is really busy , so i am not sure I will get them! This is mom and dad!

Thank you Ted. As you can see with Thai's mom she doesn't have a lot of rosettes but his dad has beautiful rosettes, i have really never seen a Bengal like him. He is unique. So I cant really go by the parents because it can go either way. My breeder called me today to check in and said that she would send me some pics tonight , but text me about an hour later and one of her queens is in labor so I am sure that will be top priority not sending me pics, Ill post as soon as I get them. Thanks everyone. i am glad I joined this forum everyone else is tired of hearing me obsess about my bengals! So I have some people to bounce my thoughts off of so THANKS everyone ! :D :D :D :D :D
