Ok, so that's the expression in french : "conduit auditif"
Description : auditory canal doesn't satisfy me as a translation (I can be wrong  ) but I guess you understand what I'm talking about ;) : the hole between the eardrum and the ear itself... is there another word, like what "eardrum" would be to "tympanic membrane" ?

Also, is there a special word for the outline of the eye ? Other than contour ? (ie, "rub the eye outline gently to clean it" : would you use outline, contour or another word ?).

I'm talking about animals if it makes a difference ;)

Thanks... ;)

Hm, that's "Gehörgang" in German which translates into auditory canal as well. As for the eye outline, how about saying "the edge of the eyelids"? Of course, I'm not a native English speaker either, so may not be the best advice.

From my medical knowledge the corner of the eye is called the canthus. The inner canthus being next to your nose and outer canthus being the outer corner.

This might help on the ear/auditory canal bit (proper term as far I remember)..

In everyday Doctor speak, the "auditory canal" is common. For the eye, "eye contour" is common, much like in French.
