A few years ago I posted a request for titles of books that you found interesting as I was having difficulty getting a "really good read". A lady suggested Diana Gabaldon. I have now read all her books, finished Earths Children by Jean Auel (my heorine) and am looking for help finding another good read. Any suggestions?

I have recently read Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay; Still Alice and Left Neglected by Lisa Genova. All very good reads, I could not put any of them down! I actually read Sarah's Key in about 2 days!

Have you tried "Warriors" by Erin Hunter?

....they are (I think) meant to be for children but I found them unputdownable!

I'm currently reading Wool by Hugh Howey... started last night and am already 300 pages in! It's very good, especially if you like dystopian fiction.

Oh gosh I am a total bookworm but havent heard of any of the books any of you have listed! lol

I'm not a very good adult novel reader, I tend to go in for Fantasy, Sci-fi and YA, but I did recently read Labyrinth by Kate Mosse which was pretty great and more adulty than I usually go for, may be more your kind of thing? Before that I read the whole of Sherlock Holmes and The Plague by Albert Camus, both excellent classics which are quality reads to get under your belt if you haven't already. And I just finished The Fault in our Stars by John Green (YA but really, really great).

Thanks for all those suggestions. Down to library in my tea-break to find some. Always reading in my spare time (not that there is too much of that :roll:

). Usually start a book only to find out that I can guess the predictable ending and return book to library when only on about 10th page! Looking forward to some long and enjoyable reads.

I got a Kindle for my birthday, I didn't think I'd like it but actually I'm in love with it :lol:

I can carry hundreds of books around in my handbag now no problem lol, and you don't even notice once you start reading that it isn't a real book. I found the books are loads cheaper too so I can buy loads more for my money. Plus it saves my place in any book I'm reading so no more hunting to find where I was up to when one of the cats gets my book and chews it or steals my bookmark :roll:

I'm in the process of reading the fourth book in Game of Thrones at the moment, the series is pretty good so far. The Host by Stephenie Meyer was better than Twilight and a nice easy read. Depends what your in to really. Crime and Punishment was interesting, I love the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. A personal favourite of mine is the greek tradgedies if you can get hold of them.

Never fancied a kindle..I like to feel the pages of a book but I suppose in the future I will get one. Could not get above books out of library but was recommended Into the Wilderness by Sara Donati. Haven't read any of her books before but the first few pages seem to capture my mind so look forward to reading the rest of the book.

Yes two books was a bit unnecessary really, I got the combined version and didn't think it was any longer than the first two books, it is easy reading though. The TV series of it is pretty rubbish though.

Argh! I've just gone and bought Wool now, thanks! Luckily it was only 77p on Kindle

I read the Hunger Games trilogy about 12 months ago, and have to say they are brilliant. Kind of half way between Teen and Adult, but spot on for me (I'm 41). I totally recommend them. Be quick before the film comes out and spoils them though!
