Dressing up your pets

Funny you should mention it though, at work (children's publisher) we were talking about doing more books with kittens dressed up. We already have a lot of pictures of dogs in various outfits, which seems pretty cruel and I was trying to dissuade from having a similar trauma with kittens. *sigh*

I wouldn't mind putting santa hats on them and harnesses/ coats if it's cold, but just for taking pictures, not keen.

I live in Korea and you see dogs in all sorts of outfits and with ears dyed all sorts of colours.

But never in a million years would I do that to my cats...

A pink spotted snow Bengal anyone?

Romeo seems to think that clothing is for playing with and generally objects to wearing anything besides his natural fur. However, I have a moggie who adores playing dressup! When we adopted her my little girl was only a year and a half and Lily(my moggie) was about a year old. Lily loved wearing American Girl doll clothes and expecially getting a feather boa wrapped around her neck and being carted around in a doll stroller. Sounds like torture for most cats but Lily never tried to escape. She just sat there purring and loving the attention.

She and my daughter ar now 10 years old and still best friends.

This is the extent to which I've ever dressed up my pets...

The Gir ears were just for about 30 seconds so we could say "lol aww look how cute" and take a picture, and the fairy wings were a Halloween costume for last year, that he only ended up wearing for about 20 minutes lol..

I'm not a big fan of dressing up animals, as I think they're much more beautiful in their regular fur and costumes just usually make them look kinda dumb. But once in a blue moon I might put something on my dog for a fleeting moment just for the novelty of it.

(p.s. Just more proof that my dog is gay... See how happy he is with those fairy wings!? :shock:
