How do you know its natural dealth and yes I can understand holding on to a loves ones fur coat. I have nothing against that! Where I am coming from is the fact that people are going out and paying thousands of dollars for a mink coat or in Japan a leopard coat " not a leopard a bengal" and the whole killing of a big cat to wear its fur. No way!!!!! I thought about what BrianJ said and my truck has leather seats!!! So I guess there is a line to be drawn as to where it should end! I dont believe in wearing animal fur just for the hell of it or for a your image as if it is to put you in a higher status because you can afford a $4000 coat!!!! I mean come on get real!!! Yes I do eat meat and I dont see the harm in using what ever is left from a slaughtered cow to make leather or what ever it might be! But I guess what I am getting at is to have an animal killed just for its fur is insane especially big cats that are endangered , it makes me sick. I guess I have such a strong opion about this because I went to a friends house and she lived with her father, might I add this was years ago, they had a four story mansion and the top floor was the game room. I thought great this will be fun a game room as in pool table pinball machines and whatever. But NO it was a "GAME" room as in all the animals her millionaire father had killed and had mounted! There was bears an elephant real elephant tusk where he went on a safari hunt and was allowed to kill these animals because he had the money. The thing that got me the most was a Siberian Tiger rug head and all on the floor. ever since that day when I was only 14 I developed a strong opion on this matter .

Oh my god... I think I would have just absolutely started bawling if I saw a room like that. Or I would throw up... I don't know, either way I definitely could not handle that. What a piece of garbage that man is. People who kill beautiful animals like that for nothing other than "fun" and for "trophies"..? Total scum of the earth.

I'm open to hunting for a lot of reasons, but not for endangered animals like that. Good lord, that's a terrible thing to do as a human being. I get a little iffy on regular hunting, too, since I don't like the whole kill-for-sport aspect (here in Colorado we have quite a few hunters), but I also understand that many park officials set the hunting limits in order to control the populations of animals and maintain the ecosystems right... which is a good thing.... I feel much better if people are going to be eating the venison or whatever, though, as opposed to just killing it to... well, just kill it.

Yeah I have to say that experience kind of scared me for life!! I have always been an animal lover , all animals not just dogs and cats. that was probably the worse feeling I have ever had in my life and to make things worse he was my mom and dads boss and me being a teenager, I didnt hesitate to give him a peice of my mind! Oh well , he still does it to this day he pays hundreds of thousands of dollars to go brutally kill animals for nothing but a trophy like you said!!! Its horrible last time I went there i refused to go up there and He has now added his "collection" to the living room I walked in and he had a moutain lion or cougar mounted at the front door in a pose that looked like it was about to attack! It is horrible I guess that is why I am so defensive about the subject, not to mention the fact that he killed an elephant for its tusks and had them proudly displayed above the fireplace mantel. I always thought that wildlife was preserved especially tigers and elephants but I suppose the right amount of money can buy anything! I do see the point of hunting wild life that is in abundance like here people including my dad and father in law are deer and turkey hunters, i wouldnt do it but at least they eat the meat. Plus deer here are over populated to the point where it is dangerious to drive you see signs to look out for deer everywhere and I actually totalled a car by hitting one! But anyways I have a very strong opion as to killing an animal for a status not for the need to live or for food supply!!

The only problem I see with using "vintage" fur is how can you prove it is genuine vintage.
The capacity for making real copies of vintage items is high especially as fur sells for a high price.

30-40's clothing is making a revival this year so there will be enough demand for retro styled clothing to justify making new fur articles.
So just because it is in 30's 40's style, doesn't mean it was killed in the 1930-40 period. I doubt many will have real 1930's receipts to give it provenance.

Fake fur can be beautiful nowadays so no need at all to use real fur.
Give it a decent burial and buy fake if you want a furry look.

agreed 100%. couldn`t have said it better myself. i have a couple `fake`pieces. nothing wrong with that. a friend of mine actually teased me saying how it`s fake, etc. and i let her have it! went off on her about animals and their furs, etc. i don`t think it`s right.

if people want to wear real fur, well then, let someone skin them and wear their skin. disgusting.
