Blood test for queen

I am taking my queen for a blood test before she goes to stud, can up tell me what bloods and how long do I have to wait result.
When I took her before she went to a different stud and had tests done there.

Have you had your girl tested for PK defic. and has the stud you are going to be using also been tested, if not, then I feel that is your first priority.

fiv / felv normally takes about 15mins

Hi Josie

I take it you are meaning the FELV snap test - as taylorbaby said it only takes a short while to take the blood - and the results are pretty instant.
When I took poppy to stud we literally went to the vets on the way to the breeders - and I got my results ready for when we got there

As already stated, it is the 'snap' test you have done at your vets, and the PKdef test you can do yourself at home (cheek swab). The cheek swab takes up to 2 weeks to come back, but both tests are important and it is wise to get both parents checked before mating. :wink:
