Just wanted to share instructions how to post a picture from your Flickr account on the forum. Flickr asks that you link back to the photo on their site, so to do it properly you'll have to combine a URL tag with an image tag. Here's how:

1) Get your picture up on Flickr (duh)

2) Go to the picture's page on Flickr - example I'm going to use:
Code:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueridgekitties/3868343930/

3) Click on the "all sizes" link above your photo and choose the size appropriate for the forum you want to post on - I'm going to go with medium size in my example - and click on that - in our example you should now be at the following page:
Code:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueridgekitties/3868343930/sizes/m/

4) Scroll down and you'll see a box with HTML code that you can grab and post on sites that allow HTML. Unfortunately, that's not the case for the forum here, so we'll need a work-around. So let's grab the photo's URL instead, example:
Code:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2620/3868343930_ec1f14ba56.jpg

(Note that the photo URL is completely different from the URL for the photo page.)

5) Now add the image tag around the photo URL, example:
Code:
[img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2620/3868343930_ec1f14ba56.jpg[/img]

6) That's technically all you need to make the picture show up here, but since Flickr requires a link back to the photo page when posting pictures on other sites, you need to add that to conform with their terms of use. So we'll need to add a URL tag for the image page (see step 2 above) flanking the image tag, example:
Code:
[URL=http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueridgekitties/3868343930/][img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2620/3868343930_ec1f14ba56.jpg[/img][/URL]

Or to make it easier to see what's going on, here it is again but with line breaks:
Code:
[URL=http://www.flickr.com/photos/blueridgekitties/3868343930/]
[img]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2620/3868343930_ec1f14ba56.jpg[/img]
[/URL]

It's important to have the tags correctly nested - start with URL, then img, than /img and finally /URL. The result should be a picture showing up in the forum that you can click on to get to the Flickr page for that image, example:

I hope that helps! I know it's a bit more involved than simply posting a picture, but it works. :D

Thanks Tameeria - didn't realise you had to add all the extra code to comply with their terms.

The bit that flumoxed me this afternoon was the very first stage of how to open the photo's page :roll:

LOL Ginny I'm glad it's not just me that gets easily confused!
Thankyou very much Tameeria, those instructions are easy enough for me to follow! :D

Yeah, I know, it took me a while to figure that out, too.

There's actually a shortcut for posting on here, since the HTML code doesn't work anyway. So here's the shortie version! :wink:

1) Go to the picture page and right-click on the image (on a PC - not sure what you would do on a Mac) - in the menu that pops up select "Copy Image Location"

This puts the photo URL for the medium size photo directly into the clipboard. You can now simply paste it without even having to go through the "all sizes" link on Flickr.

2) Follow the rest of the instructions as above starting with 5)

(P.S. This only works with the medium size photo. For all other sizes, you still have to go through the "all sizes" page.)
