We are not able to add responses to new posts in "rehoming".
Why is that?
It may just be my computer for some reason, but I'm thinking it's not because the last 22 posts do not allow me to comment.

Just worried, there may be people out there that would like to respond or aid in helping to find a new rehome but cannot due to them being unable to leave a response.

From memory, responses got disabled due to the amount of abuse some members were getting for re homing their pets.

As I remember it was comments left by members regarding one person rehoming her cats, then getting new kittens to replace them.
There was no general "abuse" of normal people rehoming their pets.

You can PM but I think it's far more helpful to add things to posts. The OP isn't able to update their post either I don't think so nobody knows whether a thread is 'active' or not.

There have been a number of rehoming threads where incorrect info has been given. Like how snow bengals, because of their Siamese ancestry, are dangerous to be around babies. Apparently Siamese are renowned for harming babies! Fortunately I was able to correct the misinformation before rehoming threads were locked. That is dangerous stuff to be posting without the option to counteract it with a sensible response. Someone, probably the OP, reported my post correcting that misinformation.

It's a shame that moderation cannot be used to control responses rather than a complete block on replies.

I asked the same question a while ago.

ohhh I see.
It does stink though, because like mentioned above, there's also information that is sometimes forgotten, or mispelled/incorrect and it cannot be edited or notified unless someone personally PM's you.
and the original OP themselves cannot re-edit/change/update if information has even changed or if there is error.
