Saw a sticky on here last night about how to get photos onto a thread, or how to add them to my signature line, but I'm damned if I can find it this morning!

Please can you help?

I've signed up to the image shack gecko icon thingy, but what do I do now? Every single time I try and paste in the link and click "preview" it's just a load of gobble-de-gook and no photo.

I am coming across as a total dunce I know, but honestly I'm not usually so stupid. I just don't find this set-up very intuitive and am getting mad... So I'm off to make a cup of tea and calm down!

I'd really appreciate if someone can put me right.

Ugh - and check out the crap signature that looks rubbish! GRRRRRRR....

I find Imageshack to be really easy for on here.

Just open the url from the link on the bar above, and get a free account. It's the button that looks like a frogs nose! Then get pics uploaded as a "640 x 480 for message boards". You should then again use the button on your post to add the url.

Once you identify the picture, click on the 'i' icon next to the image and a host of url options will appear. Copy and paste the one under 'forums' into your message.

The string will read something like: IMG]http://imageshack.us/a/img547/5165/catchart.jpg[/IMG with a [ at the front and a ] at the end. So [IMG]http:// location and filename[IMG]

When you paste the code in to the message, you can preview to check before posting. Any problems, check the string - often one of the [ or ] is missing!
