He only goes outside on his harness and lead. although he loves to go out.
we used the collar originally to get him used to having his harness on and now we just tend to leave it on him and then swap it for his harness when he is going outside.

I have a collar on my boys too. Not that they are allowed to go outside but everytime that door opens I'm nervous of a great escape !!!! They are microchipped but the collar (with name tag and phone number) gives me extra security. I do however only use the safety collars provided by Kittycollars online (and have often come home to one lying on the floor LOL)

I find that ours don't try and get out of an open door really.... especially the male one - sometimes I've answered the front door and turned around afterwards to find him standing by my feet, he could quite easily slip by if he wanted to.....

Lucky you!!! My Lenny boy would be out the door everytime.

Lubo is definitely not interested though.......
