I know many cat owners are hesitant to use medication on a cat. First of all, bless you for taking in a retired queen. She is used to simply raising babies, so this is all new to her. Time and patience is what is needed! I am concerned about introducing her to the other kitties. She needs to have her confidence built back up before this happens. It is natural for her to want to hide and be anxious. She is now in a totally different environment with people and smells. The BEST thing you can do is to go into her safe room and sit down and read a book to her or talk softly to her. Let her approach you. See if she will take treats, or want to play with a toy. But, she needs to advance at HER pace. And it could take weeks or months. There are many queens who are not socialized -- and I'm hoping this one will come out of her shell and bond with you and your other kitties. Just take things slow, very slow. Good luck and keep us posted.
