He is amazing! He is an EG (F3) and such a sweetie.

Look at the personality in those pics! I love it!

It's highly unusual to have an EG melanistic bengal unless one of the parents is a higher generation. This bengal is gorgeous and very panther looking. Do you know the pedigreed names of the parents? I'd love to check and see if I have them in my database.

His sire is GulfBeach CH Makers Mark of DreamOn
His dam is Straytcats Asta DreamOn

He looks fantastic.

In the some of the photos he looks almost completely black - is that due to the camera/light, or does he look fully black some times ?

Assuming Straytcats Asta DreamOn is an F2 (which I cannot confirm), the sire CH GulfBeach Makers Mark Of DreamOn is a confirmed F9. Since the Melanistic trait didn't appear until later generations, I figured one of the parents had to be at least an F8.

If you have a certified pedigree that you can post, I can go back and fill in the missing F1 that I'd need to get Straytcats Asta back to the ALC.

Whether he is an EG or not, wouldn't make me love him any less. I'm not really sure why I need to justify what he is to you? I don't mean to sound defensive. Just curious.

I can understand your questioning my motives. I've spent a year compiling a database of bengal cats and their F generations. When I first got my bengal, I wanted to know how many generations he was from the ALC. I researched his pedigree all the way back (took me three months). Since that time, I've done several pedigrees for people and the fact I was going back to the same cats constantly made me want to put them all into a database. It's strictly for my research information and the more cats I have in there, the better. I currently have 35,800 cats in there (compared to 20,000 in bengalpedigrees.com and 25,000 in bengal-data.com). I've had to list many cats with an UNK for the F generation because I can't locate them. My database is for my personal use only but I would like for it to be as complete as it can be, especially when it comes to the early generation bengals. I have no doubt your gorgeous baby is an F3. Without a TICA pedigree, it is difficult to confirm that. However, I will continue to search the UNKs that I have as information on the cats come online all the time. Many owners don't care which ALC is the shortest link to their cat. A few do and those are the ones I try to help. I certainly appreciate the information you provided on your baby.

To answer your question: his litter was TICA registered and both parents health tested and tested for HCM, but I didn't bother with the paperwork after signing his neuter contract.
His sire is the cover photo on the Dream On Bengals page.
