I managed to get some good shots of Griffith with his cat dancer. His left eye is still a bit poorly from when he got smacked in the face by a bigger kitten on Saturday before I picked him up, I think Arya might have agrivated it again yesterday so I'm now bathing it with golden eye.

Although even with his eyes slightly red he still has the most beautiful dark blue eyes I can't wait to see how dark they get if they end up like Junglefire Aristocat's eyes I will be even more in awe whenever I look at him, he is related so it could happen his breeder thinks his eyes will keep getting a darker and richer blue. I've not seen many snows or silver snows with eyes as dark as his are.

He has such pretty markings. Have you taken them to a vet since you brought them home? If not, you should have them checked over and the vet can take a look at his eye as it looks pretty red. It's not uncommon to get cats home and some health issues can appear. That first year I was in and out of the vet with my cats many times so it was helpful to have insurance on them. Blondie had an issue with red itchy eyes that became so bad I had to take her to the emergency vet who gave her drops and a cone. Boy that was not fun. Her eyes were an issue for several months. I guess some sort of allergy but we never did figure it out. Eventually it cleared up when she was about a year old. That first year a lot of little health things occur.

I've got some eye drops for him which the breeder recommended I grab for him, if it doesn't clear up by Friday ill take him down the vet. He was getting a lot better and then Arya smacked him in the eye again last night. I think it could also be getting irritated by him going under the bed often and as I have a hard floor there's dust no matter how much I try and clean it, Arya doesn't tend to go under as much. I have a feeling he might always have issues with his eyes as they're particularly large compared to both Arya and my previous Bengal Mina

If he starts rubbing it or itching around there, he could give himself an eye infection like Blondie did. I had to keep a soft cone (made out of material) on Blondie to prevent her from rubbing her eyes so the medication could work. Otherwise there is no way to prevent a cat from rubbing it and making it worse.

Thankfully he hasn't really rubbed it since she hit him last night, I am hoping it will improve with the golden eye as it is for minor eye infections just to make sure nothing bad happens and it can heal up. I'm bathing his eyes every 6 hours with a very diluted version and I've also been giving him nutrical daily to boost his immune system up it also helps that he has a sweet tooth and views it as a treat He's been catnapping on the windowsill in the sun most of this afternoon and when he woke up his eyes where opening as normal.

I did call our vet and asked if it was ok to use the golden eye on him and did they think he should come down they said yes it was fine to use and he didn't need to come down yet as long as his eyes are not stuck together after he sleeps, puffy or there's any different than normal discharge. He will be down the vet Friday if it hasn't cleared up although if he wakes up squinting or his eyes stuck shut he's going down tomorrow morning. I'm not the biggest fan of getting antibiotics for animals unless they need them as it can cause more issues with their tummies etc especially with babies. I have a vet who won't give out antibiotics unless it's needed and usually recommend items I can get from the chemist otherwise.

I'm just hoping he doesn't have an allergy or something, don't worry though I will get it all sorted out if he wasn't fine in himself I would be more worried.

Ugh the dreaded cones I've never had a pet cope with those most of the time I'm forced to take them off them early because they all start walking backwards poor things.
