considering trying to show her but not really sure where to begin on that front! not sure if she would be show class or not....

She is gorgeous!!!! If there are TICA papers on the kitty, there is a box for "not for showing" that will be checked or unchecked by the breeder. Unchecked, it means you can show the kitty. There is a topic here on showing cats that you might want to read through. There is travel involved, your kitty has to be well behaved and not aggressive as the judges will be handling her. I would advise you to attend a cat show without your cat and see what all goes on and talk with the people showing their cats. You will gather a lot of information and can make an informed decision!

So there are Tica papers she is a pedigree etc. i have the certificate of registration just havnt gotten round to sending it off yet to transfer ownership.Theres nothing stating not being able to show her though or even a box about it on the certificate.Her mother is beautiful i hope she grows up to look like her and have as good temperament

it says SBT on the certificate. trying to make out wat all that means on the tica website currently. if someone else knows then please fill me in lol

SBT means Stud Book Tradition.
This means your cat is a Bengal and not an early generation crossbreed. Your cat is more than 4 outcrosses away from the Asian Leopard cat and is, therefore, considered a domestic cat.

ahh fantastic thanks for clarifying that. the number that follows starts with 03 so do you know much about that with regards to showing?

My cat's TICA registration shows the SBT followed by his registration number. I think that is not associated with any judgment of show potential.

ahh right ok its just because someone mentioned a box that needed to be checked by the breeder but there is no such box on the certificate. ive just paid for the transfer of ownership so should be recieving my new one in the next few weeks which i look forward to seeing my name on it :)

Dan, you are obviously in the UK which may have different paperwork involved! Bengals are usually sold as pet quality, show quality and breeding queen. There are different price ranges for each of them. The paperwork you have may not be blue or have the box for showing. I didn't realize you were in the UK. The SBTs are 4th generations and higher. F1 through F3 bengals are considered the early generation or foundation bengals. F4s are considered domestic cats. Many areas here in the US do not allow early generation bengals to be owned by anyone but a breeder. It's state specific. The UK may be completely different.

Registering your cat does a couple of things. You can give your kitty a pedigreed name (unless the breeder has selected this for you). Secondly, it continues the full pedigree for your kitty! I know you can get a 3 or 5 generation pedigree from TICA (for a cost). It allows you to see the parents, grand parents, great grand parents, great, great grandparents, etc. that helped create your kitty. Unfortunately, you may also find all the inbreeding that has gone on in the breed since 1986, which has caused so many of the congenital problems with the bengal. It seems all pedigrees go back to Rorschach of Millwood (F1) that started the whole breed.
