Fostering must be so hard.

I've thought about doing it myself once the inevitable happens with Muskey.

I was thinking of fostering a mum and kittens but how would you give them up! I'd be in tears and giving all potential owners the third degree probably subconsciously putting them off so they didn't take my babies away!

That would be my problem. I couldn't give any of them back! Cats just take over my heart.

Update: One week of fostering autumn turned in 5 months of fostering. We of course fell in love with her and hoped to adopt her, but our cats never allowed it. They terrorized her, and would mark her stuff. we tried everything and never gave up. Well, applications to adopt her continued to pour in, and there was one application that really stood out.

Autumn went to her new loving forever home this weekend and her new owners trekked a 24 hour drive to adopt her. We already recieved a picture of her on her new cat tree! We are so heart broken because we will always miss her, and all the love she gave to us, but we are also so happy to see her so happy and thriving just after two days of being adopted into her new family.

Fostering is so rewarding, heart breaking, wonderful and everything in between. she sure stole a little piece of our heart.

I am so relieved for a happy ending for Autumn. I know how much you tried and how much you loved her. Bless you for fostering her. I know her new parents will love her and she will settle down -- as I'm sure she's the only kitty in that household. Fostering isn't difficult until you have a difficult situation. You are an inspiration to me.

You did everything you could and more for Autumn. I have read what you went through and you must be a very special person to not have given up. Be proud that you gave Autumn 5 months of love. You must miss her terribly. She is now in the right place and will be happy. Hopefully the new parents will update you on her progress.

Thank you so much! Yes, we were extremely picky with the applications. If she was going to leave us for a new home, we felt it better be a home that has all the things ours does not that would make her happy. She has wonderful loving parents that are spoiling her! They have already sent me many pictures and it makes me so happy to see her loving her new family!

I do miss her something terrible. My heart aches when I see her old little spot on the couch empty.

They have already sent me many pictures and it makes us so happy to see her little smiling face in her new home with her awesome furever family!
