Im going to get a cat dna test done.At least i could warn others about the breeder if he turns out not to be.Anyone know how i go about it?

Apparently my last long written post didn't go through.Yes im mad if he wasn't a bengal.Lying is wrong period.I have heard numerous times on this post about backyard breeders.To advertise hes a bengal,show me the mom and dad as his parents if that were a supposed lie is wrong.Even giving me vet papers saying hes a bengal is forgery which is wrong.I do have money for a more expensive cat but loved him BUT i wanted a bengal like most of you did.I wouldn't be questioning it until his vet visit which brought me here.Might not be wrong to you to be sold a lie but to me yes it would tick me off not cause i don't love him but because i was taken advantage of.So i love my little guy your right about that.Id pay a thousand plus for him! Please understand its not about him.If this is about learning some lesson yes ive learned to not trust people.I assume too much people are like myself.I could never do that to someone and here bengals go for 500.00 from breeders so 400.00 wasnt a stretch especially not that i dont think they are great but marbles are cheaper.

Don't waste your energy being angry, you have a lovely boy, who I would say definitely has plenty of Bengal in him. You live and learn, but the main thing is you love him, he's settled in with you beautifully and you've both bonded extremely well. That's priceless in my opinion.

Going back to your query re a snow bengal being his father, I looked through the ancestry of my two this week, they have snow in them and spots, and there is an Australian import in there as one of their great grandparents which is where they get their size from, they are both about 6kgs.

Enjoy your baby, he will certainly keep you busy, he has that mischievous look in his eyes lol

Those are all typical tabby traits... The Bengal is just a breed of cat with a tabby pattern so all of those things can be found in any breed of cat with a tabby pattern.

My first ever cat fitted those traits perfectly and I know that he had absolutely no Bengal blood in him at all... Considering it was 41 years ago in the UK! He was a silver tabby domestic shorthair, moggie... He did have several 'bengal' personality traits but then so do my pure bred Tonkinese cats! They actually act far more Bengal like than my actual Bengal!

It's possible your kitten is part Bengal but you will never be sure unfortunately. Cute kitten regardless that will be a real handful for a while I am very sure! Just put it down to experience and enjoy how precious any kitten is... Xx

Looking at your new pictures I think he is looking less Bengal like unfortunately... But he still might mature into one looking more Bengal like. It's the fur that looks very different to me and head shape is a bit wrong.... Even a Bengal cross with one parent a definite papered Bengal can produce kittens that look nothing like a Bengal so it's still possible.

I would be mad and angry at being duped. The breeder should not be advertising them as bengals when she cannot be sure of moms heritage. I suspect that dad isn't a papered Bengal either unless you saw them.

In answer to your question about snows producing marbles... Snows can produce spots and marbles but it does depend on what they are themselves and what they carry... All Bengal colours come in spots/rosettes/marbles so it's a bit more complicated than whether a snow can produce a marble... That's why I asked what pattern both parents were.

Marbles are not always cheaper than spotted either... My Bengal is a snow marble and he was the same as all the others in the litter. Though I think it's more common to price kittens from the same litter differently in the U.S. Than over here.

I decided to Google her.Crazy.Im mad yes.I also saw she has maine coons for sale and a stud service for her dog.I can even see my little guys pic as a kitten on her add.How do i get a dna test done? Alright hes got two different patterns on both sides.My cousin claims that's one way to tell.Shes a vet tech but doesn't see many bengals.I looked it up and tabbys have the same markings on both sides he def does not.My guess is this breeder or whatevers cat who is a bengal impregnated a female cat who was not? There was def two adults there who looked bengal to me but your right his fur is long unless its a recessive trait?

Your kitty is stunning, regardless. If you truly were expecting a bengal, the only way to get one is through a reputable breeder who can provide you with the documentation and papers that show a pedigree. Many breeders also have websites and stick to breeding bengals only or some also breed savannahs. You found a backyard breeder who is breeding strictly for the dollar and is probably over breeding the females.

You asked about DNA testing. It absolutely can be done. It's usually called "cat ancestry." There are online companies (google will find them) who claim to do this, although I would definitely check them out before using them and spending the money. While the results would not be 100% positive, they usually will tell you which breeds they found in the DNA. It can cost a pretty penny and you still may not know for certain.

The only reason to be angry is that you paid money and were duped into believing our kitty is a bengal. The good thing is that you have a beautiful kitty and are proving a good home for him.

If you find out anything for certain about this "breeder," it's easy to post on forums and social media about them. You can warn other people about this individual. Sometimes just googling a persons name can bring up something from their past.

But, don't too much of your time on this. Don't let this eat away at you. What's done is done and you love your little boy with all your heart -- enjoy the coming years with him. And ... lesson learned!

Anything to do with Christina Simpson is a bad move. She is running a puppy mill operation. I bought 2 cats from her, and within not even 24 hours I had a $180 emergency vet bill because she sold a sick kitten. Kittens were all sick before purchasing and she didn't disclose that or hand over the meds they were supposed to be on. I have tried to contact here with no response. And the same sick kitten was born with deformed back legs that she did not disclose. If anyone wants anymore info or pics just let me know. I would not recommend anyone to buy from her.
