is my cat a bengal? opinions please.

Hope this works, im new here and recently bought what i think is marbled bengal.I love him regardless.He was 10 weeks when i got him, and hes 11 almost 12 now.Yes she let him go at 10 weeks.I woudnt be questioning it except i took him to his first vet check and the vet who apparently isnt knowledgeable in bengals said she was unsure of his breed.She said well his fur is longer and he doesnt have spots all over.I said well hes marbeled and hes in his fuzzies.So asking you all!!! Btw i tried for 2 hours to upload it here,having a heck of a time.To my knowldge you cn copy the above links and paste them in the search bar and theyll pop right up.im on a galaxy tab.

I'm no expert but he looks like a Bengal to me. I got mine when they were 14 weeks old and they weren't as fuzzy as your cutie so I haven't really experienced the full fuzzy stage. If you check out Hendrix and Jagger (also in the gallery) you can take a look there, they are also marbles. I have also been told by someone who thought they knew about bengals that they couldn't possibly as they're not spotted, but they definitely are!

Do you have papers showing his pedigree?

From the pictures, your kitty apparently has bengal characteristics. Unless you have registration papers, you'll never know if this is a purebred bengal. Do you know anything about the parents of this gorgeous little kitty?

Hi thanks for your responses. I dont have papers i know bad.Im a classic case of listening to the breeder.She said the Mom was a rescue so she has no papers but i did see both parents.Dad was a snow bengal.Is that possible? He sure acts like a bengal.Boy hes like having a toddler again lol.The pics u see every morning he messes up my bed.Its like he goes to town unraveling.I should get a vid its hilarious.

There are snow bengals. Obviously, this is a backyard breeder. Hope you didn't pay very much money for your kitty. I call my 8-year old bengal a 3-year old toddler who will never grow up! They behave just like a child and you have to childproof everything. They will find the littlest thing in a corner and play with it -- you go over and it's just a ball of dust! Geez!

You will have a lot of enjoyable moments with your kitty. He's really gorgeous!

Can a snow bengal make a marbel though? I paid 400.00 US for him.Is that possible for mom not to be able to get papers because she was a rescue so her kittens cant or is this a common tactic for BB.The lady seemed legit BUT ya never know.

$400 is a lot for an unconfirmed breed... There is absolutely no way of telling if your Bengal is pure bred or a mix. Even dad could have been a mix unless she had papers for him. This is definitely a byb unfortunately as there is no way they should be selling kittens as bengals.

The kitten has some Bengal qualities but the fur doesn't look right to me. Fuzzies should be coming to an end now and the fur looks a little long to me without the smoothness that a Bengal coat has.

We're both parents spotted or marbled?

Just to add.... There is no way to get papers on kittens if parents are not registered or don't have papers.

My little guy has 4 rings around his tail with a black tip.Although he does have what looks like ticked fur on his tail,back by his racing stripe and head.Funny thing is his fur wasnt nearly as ticked if at all when i got him.I hope its a phase.Either way i still adore him!

yes these cats are quite the handfuls.Luckily my kids can keep up!

Dad was spotted, supposed mom was marbeled.He had 3 siblings left when i went.All were almost identical looking.I wonder if hes half? Ill never know.im glad i got him because i love him but at the same time i paid for a purebread.I only have vet papers from him.Breed states tri color marbel but anyone can make that up.

looking at his tail again he has 3 rings that aren't rings tho they don't fully wrap more like spotting.He also has some what looks like marble in it????? Ill post some more pics once I get on my tablet of his tail.He sure does have what looks like some ticking tho.

I'm certainly not an expert, but based on those pictures I would be shocked if you kitten was purebred bengal. Might be a mix, but also might be a very handsome non-bengal tabby. It is definitely concerning that you paid $400, but I am so glad you gave him a good home and he is a great looking cat.

As for your question about ticking... if your kitten is ticked now he will likely stay the same or get more ticked. Ticking is not desired in show bengals and most breeders try to make sure their cats don't have it. However, it's a trait the Asian Leopard Cat has, so early generation bengals do have ticking decently often. My bengals are all earlier generation and have ticking. In some light they are incredibly stunning and you can really see their spots/rosettes, but in certain light they are super shiny but have much less definition to their spots.

I have a purebred Bengal with papers. He cost $500 and came neutered and microchipped with first 2 sets of vaccines and a health guarantee.
Not all Bengals have ringed tails. Quasar's tail is actually rosetted.
His coat has become less clear with age but I find the ticking makes him look more wild.
You have a really cute kitty but he looks like a pretty tabby cat to me.

Wow i thought the very least hes half.To me he looks like one but obviously i fell for it from the breeder though lol.Ill post more pics as his coat clears if it does.He sure looks like the marble babys online even the black paw pads,white spotted belly,eyeliner look,prominant whisker pads,round broad nose,black tip tail ,pronounced jawline,etc.Surely a tabby doesnt have all those traits or maybe.One heak of a knockoff lol.
