Personally I wouldn't waste money doing DNA as it won't change anything at all... Kitten needs the same care and attention regardless of breed.... Plus, the DNA testing can only tell you the possible ancestry not an exact science at all.... So Bengal might come up but it could be a small percentage!

I would just chalk it down to experience and not make the same mistake again if you choose to get another pedigree breed cat....

Wow I cannot believe my poor kitten lived under those circumstances.I feel soooo bad for his brother whos still stuck there.I almost wish I could get him outta there.I am going to contact this women who also had a bad experience too.I am not going to waste much more time on this.I should've known better in the end but at least my kitten has a good home.Still what do I do about the poor baby still there.I feel awful.What gull to lie about this big made up story the Mom was a rescue she helped and thats why my kitten couldnt get papers.Yeah right.I did contact a few reputable breeders but they had a wait list of 3 months but oh well I love taz and that's what matters.It all worked out anyway because I have a wonderful cat who brightened up my home.I have 2 other cats.A tuxedo and a tabby.They were strays and they love him too.Ill keep you all updated on taz and if anything comes of this backayard breeder.Im certainly going to at least warn others to DO THEIR RESEARCH.My problem was my sweet Oliver died almost 3 months ago and my kids and I were devastated still are and my oldest wanted a Bengal for the longest time.I decided for her birthday to get her one and that's why I got taz.My daughters loooooooooooove him so its all good bengal or not :)

Just talked to the other poster they immediately emailed me back.She said she thinks hers are mixed as well.She said her cats show bengal traits and meow like a Bengal but the other doesn't.She bought two.hers look identical to mine.She said her one kitties back legs are deformed and she wants to send me pics, soooooo sad!!!! At least they have a good home with her, outta breedersville.

I think it's wonderful that you are so concerned about the brother to your kitty, however ... know that this woman will continue to breed these mixes and there will always be kittens in her possession that need homes -- and you just can't save them all. She will find other gullible people to adopt these cats. This is not the issue -- but she's selling them as bengals -- not bengal mixes, and she's making a fair profit off them. Smart buyers will back away when she cannot produce papers or a pedigree. All you can do is add your own experience on that same website that the other girl did. You can post on ALL cat forums about your experience -- making sure you use the breeder's user name and full name. That way, it will show up on Google. I did not google the woman's actual name. I felt the user name provided that one issue and would be enough for you. Just make sure anything you post is factual and not fabrication. Happy the person got back with you. I know it's a sad situation -- but then, so are high-kill animal shelters. You're providing a great home for all your kitties.

So true Sherry I even asked my husband would if we bought the brother lol.He said well then your approving her behavior. And this will go on and on. Stinks. The other owners cats are so cute, identical to mine.The other owner even went to the vet the breeder had on paper and talked to them.The vet is no longer taking her or her animals.That breeders OLD vet stated they were in fact purebred but not show quality was his words.But the girls home vet said mix.Mine said she didn't think it was purebred because he has no spots lol so who knows and it doesn't matter at this point! I'm glad these 3 kittens are out of there! I'm getting a cat ancestry test done.Takes 10-15 days.If any of you are familiar with them Id love to post the results to get your opinions.Im also emailing the results to the brothers Mom of my kitty.So that girl can at least have them for her records.

So thanks again everyone!!! I'd love to still post every now and then,not sure if I even have a Bengal lol but I sure love the breed!! I plan of posting more pics later.I have some SUPER cute ones.

more pics.Heres my other cat,Cookie.They are wrestling around lol.Taz usually wins.Hes plays unusually rough but Cookie holds his own.The other pics r after.Hes deciding to calm down and pose by the back door.

Most breeds have three quality types: "breeding," "showing," "pet." As long as the animal is purebred with a pedigree, you can get papers. Even a pet quality should come with papers. When a breeder does not provide papers, they need to tell you, "this is not a purebred cat." The bengal breed is so popular that even the mention of the "bengal" in the ad will bring a lot of attention.

I think you've done a lot of research ..... and you obviously decided to do a cat ancestry on the kitty. Would love to know the results when you get them back.

Cookie is just gorgeous. I love b/w cats!!! Have had many over the years. I still say your Taz certainly looks like a bengal. Great photos and thanks for sharing.

Cookie is just lovely. Black and white cats are very pretty. Think I have had pretty much every colour cat over the years. The local rescue centre had a black cat day last October to coincide with Halloween. They had a sign up saying that owning a black cat was very slimming! I had to laugh! Taz is just gorgeous. I can understand your frustration with the breeder. Just enjoy and love your cats. You can never control all the awful dishonest people out there

Hi all glad you liked the pics.My other girl princess doesn't play much with those two.Shes a gray and white tabby.Sweetest girl.Im glad cookie has someone to play with.He seemed lost when Oliver died.That was his buddy.Ill certainly post those results when they come in.Not sure if I'll be able to interpret.It wasn't very costly.It runs 120.00. Not too bad.Neat that you can do that.Yes black and white cats are great! Every one I've had over the years was so great with kids and had the best temperament.Ive also noticed orange cats are similar in temperment.Thats what Oliver was.A big,orange fluff ball.I sure miss him.

This is my beautiful boy. I have no idea whether he is 100% full-bred Bengal or not, but to me, he is beautiful and special. I got him from what I know NOW was probably a BYB and I could care less. I paid 250 dollars for him but he has paid me back in happiness and smiles a million times that price. He has a gloriously soft, silky coat, is EXTREMELY vocal and has most if not all Bengal characteristics, so I'm inclined to believe he is. Either way, I wouldn't trade him for anything and I'd rather have him than the 250 dollars I paid to get him.
