Hello everyone, I got the most amazing Christmas gift today. Of course I cried like a baby when I got it but I couldn't be happier. This is my Pur man in his new home, as you can see he is their Christmas card for the holidays this year.

he has a nice home with owners who adore him. On the back of the card his new mom wrote a letter saying he was perfect for their home and they couldn't love him more. He (of course) is her cat and snuggles up with her. His fur is almost grown back 100% and he hasn't went outside of his box since they have had him. It was the hardest thing I have had to do but I am so glad I did. He is such a happy boy now and I feel blessed that Chris and Aly decided to take him in.

He does have a great home, I wouldn't have let him go with anyone I didn't feel comfortable with. He is where he should be and living life like he should. Not cowering down hiding from kids. I feel so bad for keeping him here for so long but I thought I was doing what was right and for my own reasons. I still miss him every day but seeing how spoiled he is and how much he is loved makes it easier. Thank you all for being there for me and him through this. I was terrified everyone would think I just gave up on him even though I have his best interest at heart.

BB is also back up to her mischievous self. She is eating and playing again. Running through the house at break neck speed seems to be her thing these days. She has also become even more clingy than before (I didn't think that was possible) and she has resumed her throne on top of the refrigerator. Things are starting to level out for everyone and we have all learned a lot from this. As for a kitten, we are still talking about it. My husband and I still agree a kitten would be a good thing and of course the kids are all for it. We are just watching BB and trying to decide what would be best for her at the moment. Things aren't 100% just yet so we are waiting to see. I have talked to the breeder and I am waiting for one more email that answers a few questions I have. After that we will make our decision on when we get a kitten. I know some of you probably think I am crazy for wanting a kitten after what we have went through but please know we have talked about this for a while and we both feel comfortable with the idea. Not to mention once you have two cats it's a lot different at home when you go back to one. We feel like a piece of the family is missing and even though we can't get Jasper back we feel we can offer a kitten(that's well socialized) a good home.

Wow.... Aren't cats fickle!?

I mean that in the best possible way. We worry how they cope without us but really we are concerned about how we cope without them. I am sure Jasper is very happy and it just goes to show that you did the most unselfish thing by finding him a new home.

Big hugs, as i know you miss him. But at least you know he is happy, then it's all worth your stress and upset at letting him go. That's how i cope with letting my kittens go.... I know they are loved and provide much happiness for their new owners so i feel happy i have shared a special bond!

Thats awesome - I hope this shows that you should no longer feel guilty or bad and that ultimately it was the right thing to do.
He is obviously having a whale of a time with his new owners and how great is it that they send you christmas cards like that.

So pleased he is doing so well, you should be really proud of what you have achieved for him, although I appreciate how much it hurts.

My one cat melts and purrs in anyone's arms that picks her up. My other cat only cuddles in bed briefly and entertains herself on the patio most of the day. I think as long as all their needs were being met, they would be happy living with anyone. I have only had them 4 months. I guess it takes years for that deep connection to set in.

You have peace of mind, and that's priceless. Jasper is happy and his new owners love him. You could not ask for anything more! I know it was hard giving him up .... but just knowing he's doing great with a new home warms your heart and you know you did the right thing for him. {{{HUGS}}}

Yes peace of mind is a great thing and I do not regret my decision to rehome him. He is a fat and happy house cat and he is loving life, which is all I wanted from the start. I still feel bad that despite everything we could do he wasn't happy here. I guess you right Lollo cats are fickle lol. Hopefully he stays on the path he is on and has a long happy life with Chris and Ally. And YES I am so blessed to have found a couple that understand the situation and the fact that I still and will always love Jasper. The fact that they took the time out to send me a card literally made the holidays for me! It was the best gift I could have asked for.
