I got my Bengal kitten 1 week ago today. We named her Dominion, after the highest order of angels of the second choir:

It's been a hell of a week, since for most of it we have had to keep Pixie and Dominion seperated, and its a lot of work to make sure that a super high energy and inquisitive kitten that hates being confined stays properly entertained and loved when restricted to a single room. On top of that, keeping Pixie from becoming too upset about the invader and encouraging her to accept it means paying at least as much attention to her. We've barely been able to do anything non-cat related all week. :rolleyes:

Fortunately, this weekend we have been able to let them mingle freely when we are around to supervise. And for the first couple of days, it was very close supervision.

They'll be best friends in another week or so.....ours didn't really see eye to eye at first, But now they are like best mates and always grooming each other or having a race to see who can get the best traction on the kitchen floor

Have a look at this <a href='http://www.bengalcatforums.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=104&hl=' target='_blank'>post</a> about their first encounter with each other.....you could feel the tension in the air! (maybe that was just cat breath from all the growling)

By the looks of your photos she's doing just fine and I've noticed she has that cheeky and mischievous look about her.....Do all bengals have that feature built-in!

p.s One of ours sleeps in all kinds of positions and just like in your pic she also sometimes appears to have an extra leg sticking out at a strange angle. (I'll try and post a pic)

Yep, it's the law that all Bengals are naughty, they wouldn't be Bengals if they weren't

Zeus often sleeps on his back with all four paws in the air, quite how he finds that comfy I will never know, even dogs don't sleep like that

Yeah, were hoping by next weekend that they will be comfortable enough with each other that we can leave them together unsupervised.

Dominion has been curious and almost completely fearless about Pixie since the very beginning. Pixie has been the one who is determined to be anti-social. Although, the persistent enmity from Pixie has since made Dominion a little more waryand defensive, but that indomitable curiosity and enthusiasm keeps her following Pixie around and trying to play with her.

Once, when Dominion was playing with the home made feathered toy we have, Dominion actually growled back at Pixie when she walked up and started threatening her. I'm still amazed by the sound that came out of that sweet little kitten. Pixie is three time the weight of Dominion, but that growl sounded like it came from a cat twice Pixie's size... :blink: Pixie was the one that backed down that time.

Right now they are able to coexist in relative peace. Pixie more or less just ignores the kitten until she come within a couple of feet or so of her. Then, she still growls and hisses, unless she's got something more important going on (like getting fed :rolleyes: ); in which case she'll just casually ignore her. Pixie still occasionally swats at Domi, but Dominion manages to be so unbelievably fast.

Ultimately, they are making slow but steady progress.

As far as weird positions goes, Pixie still has Dominion beat. Pixie also loves to lay on her back with her legs in the air, or when she's on her stomach, she often lays with her back legs outstretched behind her. I've never seen another cat do that. A few dogs, yeah, but not a cat...

Oh, and thanks for all of the compliments. I'll pass them along to Domi.
