Hello eveyone, am so glad I found this forum! My sweet kittens are Jasper who is 4 months old and a silver marble male who weighs 5.0 and Scottie who is a little over 3 months old and a brown spotted male who only weighs 1.8 lbs. Both kittens have been diagnosed with the herpes virus. I knew they were both sick when I took them, but fell in love with them and couldnt help myself. Jasper's eye runs a bit at times but is doing great. Scottie has had 3 visits to my vet for several weeks and is finally doing much better. His health went down hill for a couple weeks and I was terrified. Unfortunately Scottie had to have his eye removed but is doing great. I just worry because he is so small compared to the other kitten. I was told here on the forum about l-lysine and will look for some over the week-end. I will post some pics of my sweet boys when I get the chace. Does anyone else have a cat with the Herpes Virus??

Hi and welcome to the forum (sorry, I haven't welcomed you before). You need to upload your photos to a free hosting site like Photobucket or Tinypic first. Once you've done that, you copy the [IMG] code (complete with square brackets) into your message on here. I use Photobucket and find it quite easy. There are some instructions for Tinypic in a sticky at the top of the gallery section but I think the basic procedure is the same for most of them.

Have you managed to find some L-lysine?

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Bless you for taking in these two special kitties, thery were so lucky to have found you.

Im sure Scottie will start to grow and pick up wieght now that his eye has been removed. I would say it is worth trying the L-lysine. See if you can find it in a powder form, maybe from a health shop or bodybuilding website, as it will work out cheaper than the tablets.

Please keep us updated with their progress, and dont forget the piccies!
