We just picked up Rooni and Rewski Saturday.. They are 13 weeks old and are half sisters born 2 days apart. They are settling in pretty well. Rooni is very brave and is eager to explore the house and has even started trying to follow me around and get in my lap a little. She is very hyper and playful and funny to watch! Rewski is a bit more timid. She will come out and explore and play but is a little hesitant to be picked up. Once I get her she purrs like crazy. We have our bathroom set up as their "safe place". She does a bit better being held in there and will sit in my lap. I am hoping that with time she will grow out of this. They are really cute with their exploring. If they get too far apart they call for each other. :)

The breeder gave us a blanket that they had been sleeping on to help them transition to their new home. It is in their carrier and that is where they have been sleeping. I am wondering when I should remove the carrier. I have a bed for them and was thinking of putting the blanket on it and taking the carrier away. I have also put one of my t shirts in there to help them get used to me. Is it too soon to take away the carrier?

Also, about Da Bird. They LOVE it but have destroyed all but 2 feathers on it in 2 days! Am I in for a lifetime of weekly replacements or did I maybe just get one that wasn't the best quality? I'm not sure I can afford $5 a week on feathers!

I will attempt to post pics but not sure if I know how!

Aww bless them, they look really sweet - especially the one where they're snuggled up together.

Try putting the bed in alongside the carrier and see if they gradually move over once they're feeling more secure. Mind you, most cats resist the things you put out for them and choose to find their own beds or play things

It's not unusual for them to destroy Da Bird but they can play on with it with shredded feathers for quite a while. I've found that the sparkler attachment is great fun and actually lasts longer, despite being made out of flimsy looking silver foil.

It'll be great to see how your girls develop.

Aw they are gorgeous..... i would advise the same as Ginny and put the bed in next to the carrier and see what they do....

My cats go through Da Bird feathers quickly too, but Ginny is right, the sparkler attachment lasts much longer and they will love it just as much if not more, mine also love the fur attachment too and they havent managed to destroy that 1 either....

I am happy to say the girls have settled in great! I've had 2 little shadows the past couple of days and lap kitties at night! ! They got to where they were sleeping at the door to the carrier so I took it away and they have been curled up together in their bed! As for toys, they have destroyed anything with feathers so I will try the foil next time! Thanks for the suggestion!
