Thanks Miki, she is a beauty! Glad i got her and spent more money than i should have done! lol. She is still abit skitty skatty but has come on so much. She will never be a lap cat and i doubt i will be able to pick her up too much, but she was brought for Jasper to keep him company and she is doing that so i cant complain.

Hey all

Keeta had her lady op yesterday and is really upset with me! :( I opted for the flank as i wanted her back to normal as soon as possible. She was very uncomfortable last night crying as she likes to lay on her left side to sleep. So we had the drunk kitty act for an hour or so then she slept most of the afternoon, evening and night.

She appears to be over the drowsiness now but i am concerned as she is not eating anything. I gave her a spoonful of botzita at tea time which she did not touch, at bed time then again this morning. I tried to tempt her with some meaty treats but she was not interested. My mum is popping in to see her this afternoon and is going to try some boiled chicken.

Is it normal for them to be off food for a day or so? I know when Jasper was done he was starving and tried helping himself to anything and everything.

It's quite usual for the girls to take longer to recover than boys - they have a much deeper anaesthetic and the whole procedure is more traumatic for them. Keep tempting her with small amounts of food and make sure she's got easy access to water at all times. If she appears to be in pain, then you might need to get some additional pain relief from the vet but my female cats have usually been OK after about 48 hours.
