I saw an interesting mix kitten at that show too. It was with a lady who breeds both Abyssinian and Somali. Well.. one of her Aby males got out and before she found him he had mated no less than three Somali queens. OOOPS.

Oops - I bet she wasn't too pleased about that.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Piper is lovely and I'm sure is going to lots of fun. If you've got any questions about settling her in or what to expect, then ask away.

Luckily enough she settled in right away and took right to the family. No hiding or spazzing out.

Piper is such a cutie, just love her white paws. Welcome to the forum and I hope we hear more about her as she grows up.

Brought her to the vet today and at 11 weeks old weighed in at 3.8 lbs!

Everything thing else looked good and healthy.

Going to use Revolution for flea/worms protection.

She's a good weight already. Glad she did OK at the vet.

I use the revolution for Kody. I don't know about your vet, but I can order it from Drs. Foster and Smith (my vet faxes the prescription in for me). I get 6 months of it for the price of 3 months at the vet office. For kittens though I don't know how that would work--I know you get the under 5 lb. dose and I don't know how quickly they grow.

I'll have to check Drs Fosters and Smith. I have bought fish supplies from them but never cat or dog stuff. My vet charges 102 for a 6 month supply. I looked at PetMeds and for 6 months they wanted 85. I'd have to find out if the vet charge for prescriptions, if they do then I don't really see that I'd save anything.
As it stands she is so close to 5 lbs I'll probably just buy single doses until she hits the 5 lb mark.

that's great! just be sure you treat for tapeworm too as Revolution doesn't treat for tape worm and that's an important one that fleas can carry and your cat can pass on to you and your family!! Drontal and Milbemax both treat for tape worm, but if you're worried speak to your vet about some tapeworm treatment. just be sure you don't use anything from the pet shop or supermarket, in particular Hartz, Bob Martin or Johnsons.

Luckily my vet doesn't charge for the prescriptions, but my daughter's does. The 5 lb. and under comes in 3 month supplies, so I know the savings aren't as good on that. Sugar Ray was right at the 15 lb. mark so I always had to get both for him and it bugged me that I had to pay more for the under 5 lb. size. I have used both PetMeds and Foster & Smith, but when my Sugar had so many heart meds Foster & Smith was quite a savings.
