Sounds good. I'm going through slow introductions with Merlin and it's a case of taking things in very small steps. Then suddenly you look back and wonder why you worried.

 sorry I am so late catching up with this one! Lovely to have a new member on the forum and Dexter is purrrtyyy. Hopefully he and Sheba will be the best of friends although she might never quite get what on earth he is doing when he is playing.

Hello and welcome
What a good looking boy Dexter is.
I have a dog and Sol loves her. Mind you my dog thinks she is a cat anyway

Bad news.... Dexter just came in to kitchen and starting to play with some toys, Sheba came in sniffed around a little and then just went for him with no warning, she had him under her. Dexter is fine physically but ran straight upstairs and is hiding. I'm so upset and feel like all the hard work is undone now.

Sheba by the way is normally the softest, soppiest dog and not at all vicious. She been very told off and put out in the garden.

So so sad

Any advice or thoughts?

Well this morning I went in to 'Dexter's room' aka guest bedroom and he came over to see me as normal and had a fuss. He then followed me downstairs (dog is upstairs in another room) and had a nice play with his Da Bird so that's better than I thought he might be this morning.

I'd try not to worry to much. It may take a while but im sure they will end up best of friends.
It doesnt sound like Dexter has been to bothered by the whole thing. Maybe Sheba was a bit over excited.

Thank you... I feel like I just want to fast forward a few weeks at the moment! Definately feeling better than last night though even if we have taken a few backwards steps!

That's good. I think it's just a case of taking small steps. Sometimes you'll feel as if you've gone backwards but it's all about getting them used to each other until they realise neither is a threat to the other.
