I am relatively new to Bengals, I only found out about them last year, what can I say, late starter.

I am now Shelter Coordinator and Foster Mom for Great Lakes Bengal Rescue, a rescue for Bengal Cats covering 8 States in the Midwest of the USA. I am English and I have been here for almost 7 years now with my American husband James.

I am overjoyed that in September a Bengal joined our household. Two year old Cinnamon Marble Bengal, Sakura. We are her third and permanent home.

Here is another photo of my pride and joy.

And another..

Then Sakura chose a mate. Three year old Apollo joined her permanently in October. His second home.

I am also fostering 2 year old sisters Laila and Lucy who are looking for a home at www.greatlakesbengalrescue.com

We also have 3 dogs so it is a busy household.

I look forward very much to being a part of this forum.

Hi Shantra,

Welcome to the forum. Sakura is beautiful, what a fantastic colour, so is Apollo.

I've just had a look at the website, so many beautiful cats looking for a home. It must be very hard but rewarding work.

Look forward to hearing all about your cats and the rescues.

Jules.

Hi and welcome to the forum - Sakura and Apollo look gorgeous. What a fascinating colour Sakura is.

Good on you for the work you're doing with the bengal rescue group - it amazes me how many are up for rehoming but thankfully there are people like you around to help them find forever homes.

Thank you so much for the welcomes so far. Sakura is stunning. I haven't pulled her out of her carrier yet and had someone gasp. I had never seen the color before and I haven't seen any kittens offered in this color, it is a non standard and unrecognised color that in short comes from a recessive gene.

Now Apollo is a totally different cat but just as mischevious as a Bengal comes. When I saw him I was surprised at the amount of black but I gather it is not that unnusual for a Brown Marble.

And Miki... lovely to bump into you everywhere!!

This morning I tried to grab an extra 30 minutes in bed because it was only just after 3:30. Apollo made as much noise as he could and beat on the door trying to open it.. I come out and 3 cats are sitting there all meowing up at me for breakfast.. I LOVE being a Bengal parent!

Hi Shantra and welcome!
What a very worthwhile 'job' you do! It must be very rewarding helping all those needy Bengals! Your two are really super and are lucky you found them. Keep up the good work. :D

wow for you finding such a special lady! and *glomps* for finding them homes! love the way you say "third and permanent"...

and *grins* i know...the nightly wrestle with eithne is now one of the things that makes me happy! i've started going to bed earlier so we can play for longer before i eventually have to turn over and sleep!

huzzah for bengals!

Hi and welcome to you and your beautiful cats. I don't believe I have ever seen a pic of a cinnamon bengal before. Stunning color! I think you're going to be sharing some great and entertaining stories and pics of your furbabies!

Thank you so much for being so welcoming everyone. It was Janet Saltzman, President of Great Lakes Bengal Rescue who told me what color Sakura is. Her 2nd owners described her as caramel and butterscotch color, which was pretty accurate actually!

That she is so distinctive made me hopeful I might find her breeder as I have searched for Cinnamon Marble kittens and came up blank so they can't be that numerous.

Maybe some day.

Welcome to the forum :D Your bengals are lovely, Sakura is a gorgeous color. I've got a big soft spot for marbles as I've got one coming in a couple of weeks. Look forward to seeing more of yours and of your fosters as well.

What a good job to have. I hope you find lots of homes for these special cats. Your cats are lovely. I've seen marble that color offered somewhere. I'm trying to remember where the pictures was so I can send it to you. I think it might have been a past kitten out of our Tarzan's breeder. It is unique. Welcome too. My husband and I are new to the breed. Always wanted one and finally had the opening in our family and fate put us with Tarzan :)
