I would like to introduce Dari, our nearly 2 year old Bengal.

Dari lives with us in Sydney. We adopted him less than 6 months ago from a local cat shelter. Apparently his previous owner gave him away because he was too noisy! He didn't seem that noisy to us in the shelter and we still didn't get the message when they shelter jokingly gave us a set of ear plugs as we left.

The 30 minute drive home was traumatic for all of us, he meowed loudly and tried to get out continuously. He eventually did get out of his cage by rattling the lock so much it opened and he proceeded to explore the inside of the car. He was happy out of the cage and finally stopped meowing and we considered not putting him back in the cage. But it was hard to drive with a cat on the dashboard in front of me, so back in the cage he reluctantly went, and the meowing started again.

Dari's hobbies include meowing loudly, playing inside of cardboard boxes, and jumping high into the air to catch plastic cutlery. He has a sixth sense for when food is dropped and will suddenly immediately appear from wherever he was, no matter how far, when this happens.

After 6 months we can say that he is too noisy, but we would never give him up. We love the way he dances around when we get home (kneeding I believe it is called) and the way he tries to flatten his entire body when he get's ready to chase a plastic spoon.

Here are some picture of Dari...

Hi and welcome to the forum - Dari is a very handsome boy. Most Bengals do talk loudly - they love to tell their slaves what's going on and what they're thinking

I usually do too but last night Dolly decided to play with the new ping pong balls I'd bought her from madcats.co.uk (thanks Steph for the link). Not only do they jingle, she lost it under the dresser in the kitchen and decided to tell me all about it at 4am
