Everyone is so naughty lately. I love it
Just tell him the truth - you are picking up his birthday surprise, and no he doesn't get any clues until you get back

I like your style and I bet he won't be able to resist Jasper when he sees him.

I've been very, very naughty too, all behind my OH back. It's his 40th next month and I wanted to give him a special present. Seeing as he is the only male in a house of 5 girls, (that's me, my two daughters and two girlie bengals) I thought I would get him a male bengal kitten. More for my benefit really.

Jasper arrives this Friday afternoon at Larnaca airport, so I need to think of an excuse to go and collect him without OH getting suspicious. My eldest daughter is in on the secret so she will be coming with me.

I'm a little nervous about he will react when he sees Jasper, coz no doubt he will moan about the expense of another cat and the fact that we move again in 2 years time, but I'm sure, well hoping he'll be okay.

Thing is we're off out to a function the following night and I have said to my friends if they sense an atmosphere between us then assume it didn't go too well.

Wish me luck everyone, coz I'm thinking I need loads.

Well how did it all go?? Did your OH like his bday surprise?? How is Jasper settling in?? xx

Hi Everyone.

Below is a picture of Jasper. He is settling in really well, can't quite believe we've had him a week tomorrow. The girls are hissing less, although Milly is a bit more aggressive. Rosy sometimes forgets that she has to hiss at him. Jasper doesn't care though as he will chase after them just to annoy them on purpose.

He sleeps on our bed with us at night although the first ten minutes are spent him attacking our feet under the sheets.

I do have a problem with Jasper, he likes to swipe the water out of his bowl to the extent that it goes all over the floor with nothing left in the bowl. I'm hoping when he starts to drink from the same water bowls as the girls which are sturdier, one is a drinking fountain, he won't feel the need to empty all the water.

I shall keep you updated on Jasper and post more pictures. :D

So happy everything is going well for you all and Jasper is settling in well.. he looks gorgeous from the picture....My little girl Bengal, Darcy plays with her water and it ends up all over the floor too..She also puts small toy mice and balls in her water bowl??? No idea why.. I have started to put a big mixing bowl in the bath with water and ice cubes in it and she loves to jump in the bath and play with that and it does seem to have stopped her from messing with her drinking water bowl!!! Well for now it has?? xx

lol that soo makes me laugh, Bella does the same thing, starting off with just repeatedly patting her paw on top of the water till enough comes out to make tracky little puddles then its off to get something to drop into the bowl

Baileys not too impressed as its a shared bowl
When he hears her splashing, he'll come far enough round the door to check it is her and I swear he mutters something as he turns disdainfully (he's a lot to learn) and goes back to lie in the sun

I know he can't WAIT for Monday when our new addition comes

We had a girl that would totally empty her bowl. We tried all sorts of things even putting her drinking bowl in a litter tray so that she would at least have something to drink. One day in a pet shop I came across a very large ceramic dog bowl in the shape of a pyramid with its top cut off. Bought it and it really did the trick. Plenty of water in the wide base and when she put her paw in to splash the water stayed in the bowl. The top was wide enough for her head to go in for a drink. Needless to say, when she retired and went to her forever home, her special bowl went with her.

How did you get on??? It helped when I let my OH have the final say name-wise. If it wasn't for him Baloo would be Frank! :)
