Hi! I've been reading for a few weeks now, but as I will be a proud bengal owner in 3 and a half weeks I thought now was the time to join.

My husband and I have been thinking about getting cats for a while as we're about to move in to a bigger house, and then about a month ago I discovered the bengal breed and fell totally in love! Ever since I have been reading absolutely everthing I can find on them - books, forums, blogs.... and I just can't wait! I imagine owning a bengal can be much like owning a furry tornado and I'm so excited

So at the weekend we went to see a lovely breeder, and we picked out our beautiful bengal boy. He is a brown spotted bengal and is so friendly - he just sauntered across the room away from his brother and sisters, jumped on my lap - attacked the tassles on my pashmina for a little bit, and then tucked himself under my arm and fell fast asleep He'll be coming to live with us when he's 12 weeks old. He's going to be called Artemis - or Arty for short.

And his mummy is coming to live with us too! At 3 1/2 it's time for her to retire so she's off to be spayed and will come along with her kitten. She is a stunning AOC snow marble and a very sweet girl.

What have we let ourselves in for?! I'm sure I'll be turning to all you lovely people for your words of wisdom!

Awe how lovely, welcome to the forum and it certainly looks like Arty chose you rather than the other way round. The next few weeks will seem like a lifetime to wait xx

thanks for all the kind welcomes! I'm just so excited and I can't wait - I'm driving my poor OH mad debating endlessly which toys they'll want, what litterbox to get, what bed they might like.... they've turned me in to their slave already - and they're not even livig with us yet.

We love the name Artemis, and we're just hoping he doesn't notice it's a girl's name because Artemis is the Greek goddess of the hunt. My OH is a little concerned he'll grow up a confused kitty

Mummy cat is called Gally - although I'm sure she'll end up with a new nickname of her own. We're really plesaed to be able to offer such a lovely cat a loving home to enjoy a long and happy retirement and pleased our new little boy will have someone to play with when we're out

I've guessed too I've got a Gally grand-daughter
