Hi everyone! I'm a fairly new bengal owner, I got my first and thus far only bengal a year and a half ago. His name is Haltia, which means Elf. His official name is SiruCats Bandhu. I think I already registered to the forum once before, but I never wrote anything, so the username was naturally removed. Now my bengal addiction has gone to a new level, so I'll probably be hanging around some

Haltia, my little elfling, has a nickname which means Spotted Disaster. I never knew a cat could be so energetic! At first he absolutely exhausted me, but now I'm actually bored if he just wants to sleep all day

Haltia has three housecats as friends, one male and two females. He has a cat wheel, which he uses about 2-3 hours a day, on and off. He spends a lot of time on the balcony, which has a safety net allover it so the cats can't get out. He also loves to go out for walks on a leash, and strangely, he always wants to greet all dogs when we're out

I wasn't supposed to take Haltia to cat shows, but I took him once when he was four months old, and got completely hooked! We've been going to FIFé-shows, but now there's some TICA-shows in Finland as well, and yesterday we tried on of those for the first time. It's so nice that Haltia doesn't get nervous, he's just so easy to go to shows with. At home you'd never believe how calm he can be, since at home he's a complete ADHD

Anyway, here's some pics of Haltia.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Haltia's lovely - great shot of him on the wheel with his tail up in the air and his mouth open. I love his nickname - suits a Bengal perfectly

Thank you for the welcome and the compliments :)

Haltia has been spending a lot of time doing backflips again today: he'll make these huge leaps after a toy  He'll catch his breath for a while, but then he'll want to go again, and again, and again. It's amazing how much energy a cat can have  Haltia is a lot of fun, even though he's not much for hugging; he is a bit of a momma's boy, though, always around and wanting attention :)

My housecats were complaining about not being introduced, so I'll just do that this once even though this is a bengal forum  They are after all an important part of Haltia's life.

Lumi (means snow), female, 5 yrs:

Velho (means warlock), male, 5 yrs. Velho is Haltia's best friend.

All of your cats are lovely, and look very happy. :)

I especially love the pic of Haltia on the wheel!

Apparently the cat wheel is a bengal thing. My three housecats just couldn't be less interested in it; I've tought them to run on it with treats, so I know they can, but they just won't. Haltia on the other hand runs about 1-3 hours a day, he's quite addicted. Haltia's breeder (who arranged our wheel) has two cat wheels, and almost all of their bengals use them. Haltia's mom, who was a breeder's placement queen (=kapatrik's Lara), has four bengals in the family, and all of them use the cat wheel. But not my housecats :?

So I definetely recommend the cat wheel to any bengal family; it's a great way of getting the excess energy worked out :D The wheels were made at a local shcool for metal work, based on sketches that Haltia's breeder got from the breeder of one of their cats in the US. Just make sure the wheel is wide enough, so the cats can run on it with a straight back. Ours is 130 cm wide. Here's just a few more pics:

The wheel came without the mat, but kapatrik and I glued them to ours so that the wheels would be nicer to use. And it worked! Here's a "naked" wheel:
