Happy and sad today. Yesterday I took my homebred girlie off to one of my clients for her forever home. She looked so content when she got there but it made me sad.
I got her mum in 2006 as my very first Bengal and we had a litter from her. Luna was one of 2 girls born and we decided to keep her. When I found out we were expecting our daughter, we had Angel spayed as she was getting very nasty towards the other girls in the house and we weren't sure how she would react to a baby when she got here. She went off to a lovely lady up north but we had Luna so it wasn't so bad. When Luna was old enough she had her first litter. Unfortunately Luna is a stocky girl but not very big soo when she gave birth the kittens were a little too big for her.
To spare her from any pain we had her neutered and offered her for adoption. I work for a company who train in carehomes. One of our clients has given us a lot of business and has a lady there who has been declining mentally since her family gave away her siamese some time ago. The lady was pining for her cat (although she is never alone). The manager of the home took in a picture of Luna and said 'look who we have brought for you' and the lady started crying - bless. She then started rearranging her room, getting it ready for her new room mate. I took Luna yesterday and when I finished work I said goodbye and left her there.
The good thing is that I am back there in 2 weeks so I get to see her all the time and it is good to see she is bringing joy to a lovely lonely lady.
It's just sad that my original line has gone (although we have 6 troublemakers to fill the void).
