Hi everyone. My name is victoria and i am from calgary, alberta canada and i will be the proud owner of a three year old female marble bengal named Tia. I have been interested in bengals since last year when me and my fiancee were deciding if we wanted an abyssinian from a breeder in a different province but then had come across a couple of bengal breeder's and i thought they were just gorgeous cat's specially the marble pattern. It took us a year and three month's to decide if this was the type of cat that was for us since we already have a 6 year old chubby black and white domestic medium haired that was rescued when he was four weeks old as well as a semi-crazy 1 year old adopted mixed breed dog from the pound we looked to see if any rescues had bengals but they didn't which was a bit disappointing but then i had found my new cat from a nice breeder close to our home and the ladies husband is bringing her here tonight :D and we can not wait(our 6 year old cat HATES kittens so that's why we decided on a retired adult) and she's just a gorgeous little girl. I can't wait to post pictures of her when she comes.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Can't wait to see some piccies of your new little girl. You may need to be patient with the introductions to start with but I'm sure it'll all be worth it when she's settled in.

Thank you everyone. She is gorgeous but i think there was a mix up when her husband brought our cat over since we were suppose to get a marble and he brought a rosetted bengal. So i am not sure what to do do i tell them we think we got the wrong cat? Since the one we were suppose to get she was giving her away free to an approved home and this cat who is also retired was selling for $350 to an approved home. It would be really sad for us and the new cat as she has settled into our cat room nicely and i have fallen in love with her already. We already had a problem with this breeder yesterday morning when he came and then decided to leave without even an explination.

Don't worry i have lot's of pictures but i won't post any until i figure out what to do and see if we are able to keep this cat instead.

Mmm, that sounds a bit odd - almost as if he dumped the cat on you and did a runner. Do you think the wife knew what her husband was doing? Did you get any registration papers with the cat?

Did you visit the breeders house and see the cats there before you decided which to pick?
I know this sounds awful but some cats are stolen to order.

I hope she knew since i don't want to give her back since im completley in love with her already so it would be heartbreaking if they asked for her back but i think if they do and ask for money i will just pay it if i get to keep her.

No but they had seemed like a decent breeder the only thing i was able to see was their website which has everything that i would of seen at the house if i had gone. I wish i had gone now. I don't think she was stolen as she look's exactly like one of the females on the avaliable adult page. So i think he just got mixed up with the two cat's which she probably didn't tell her husband which cat was going where. So i am not sure if i should email them and see if there was a mix up or just leave it be and email them anyways and say everything is going great with our new cat.

Ginnym..No we didn't get any registration papers we just got her vet records.

I'm a firm believer that honesty is the best policy so I think you should contact the breeder before Tia gets even more settled. There's every chance they'll let you keep her, especially if you're willing to pay for her. It would be awful if they demanded her back in a couple of weeks' time and you're always going to be on edge wondering if they're going to do that.

If you contact them and say you're very happy with Tia but you'd expected her to be marbled so just want to check that you've got the right vet records. Then, take it from there, depending on what they say.

Have to say i 100% agree with Ginny.Otherwise you will be worrying for weeks incase they turn up for her. You'll be dreading someone knocking on the door or the phone ringing incase it's tham.
Aw, you must be in tourmoil.

Yeah i think i will email them today or call. I really hope they will let us keep her. My fiancee was kind of thinking that when he was bringing both the cat's into town the first one he dropped off that they got to pick which cat they wanted so i might have to ask about that.

I hope they will be nice about it but i haven't met many breeder's that aren't very nice specially if they know their animals are going to loving homes which i know we are all our animals are well taken care of. They all get the best food and vet care avaliable.

I am always worried that he will come back and say there was a mix up. My fiancee's mom and step-dad came today and rang the doorbell and i was holding my breath the whole time until he looked out and told me who it was/
