Hello from Saint Louis Missouri (USA)!!

My name is Cheryl, I guess I never formally introduced my self. I am pretty new to Bengal ownership. I got my boys on December 20th 2008. My little Christmas babies!
I had been doing research for months on Savannahs and Bengals… more for future reference. I was taking care of my father whom had a strong dislike for cats. So I figured it would be best to wait. He was thinking about moving into his own senior apartment. However I lost my father suddenly in November. I found that my home was pretty quiet and somewhat depressing with him gone. I was so accustomed to taking care of him; his care consumed much of my time, as well as my husbands. I still miss him so much. I actually loved taking care of him, it was that business that kept me going.
At this point I decided I needed some activity and fun in my house, (not that my husband isn’t fabulous) and that is when I decided to get my Bengals. I researched breeders all over the place until I found WildIsle Bengals. The breeder was so friendly and responded to my VARIOUS questions and concerns. I was going to get a retired adult, just one. When I got there I fell in love with my Kitten Bentley, and also learned of his 10 month old half brother Jackpot. I knew I had to have them as part of my family!
From the day I brought them home they’ve had me smiling and laughing! Bentley is the little daredevil while Jackpot is the gentle, agile, lover. They love to play and roughhouse with one another. I love to see them snuggling and sleeping together. They have each picked one of us to really take too. Jackpot is my baby! He loves his belly rubs! Bentley has taken more to my husband, but defiantly loves me too… My husband LOVES them both to death too, it has just been such a perfect fit!
They have been such an encouragement and joy to be around! I cannot imagine not having them as part of my family.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! I have found that I am pretty addicted to this forum now!! Even when I am not posting I am checking to see who has, and what’s going on!
My babies have been such a light! They just put the bounce back in my step. They give me the opportunity to fuss over them and spoil them rotten! Cats really are sensitive too, it seems like they know when I need a good laugh or snuggles! This weekend we are leaving them from Thursday night (today)-Saturday afternoon for a small weekend get a way… I am soo worried about them! I have one of my friends committed to coming to play with them, and make sure they have plenty of food, yet I know I will be worried the entire time! I hope they don’t think I abandoned them!

We are going to Branson Missouri, to a church couples retreat. It's going to be lots of fun! It's a big tourist area, with lots to do. Just nice to get away from home and work!

I'll try not to worry! They are just like my babies... and I cannot imagine them alone for that long!

Hey!

I'm Gemma from London England. I get to collect my little boy on Sunday 22nd Feb.

Can't wait! He's currently called Sinbad, but i'm gonna rename him Tsega (pro SAY-gar like the console). It means gift from God.

I love the pics of your babies! Like you i've had a bad year, loosing my job, my partner nearly dying, then in Jan miscarrying my baby.

Feel the same.. Really need something to love.

Take care

Much love

Gem x

Thank you Ren. Funnily enought Ren is the nick name i've given to my partner. His name is Warren. Ren comes from my laziness to pronounce the 'War' bit!

He's kinda on the mend, but his medication can bring on spurts of nasty, evil behaviour, resulting in us being very off & on.

Very upset at the mo.. He decided today he didn't want anything to do with me (it's like a once a month PMT thing), typical he's done that with tomorrow being the 14/02/09!

Anyway i won't bore you with the details of my rather rocky relationship!!!

Hense my longing for the unconditional love of a kitten. At the age of 6yrs my family got a moggy (Cepha, as in C For Cat geddit..? Also runt of the litter), he passed away 2yrs ago & i miss having a cat!

So Tsega will live up to his name.. A gift from God.

I live alone in a one bed flat i've bought, i hate being alone so tend to go out.. Spending £ i don't have. So once Tsega's here it'll mean NO going out during the week. Tsega will b alone from 7.30am - 4.30pm so will stay in to play with my little baby.

If i have to spend a lot of the time out, my mum has already agree to kitten sit! LOL!

Anyway, must go, typical Gemini me, could chat for England.

Much love

Me x

8 days to go!
