Thanks, guys!

I just spent most of this morning making my office more kitten proof, and cleaning everything in sight!

He's going to have a nice, large room full of kitty toys to play with. The huge cat tree is in here too, with access to two windows (with ledges big enough for a cat to sit on) to look out of.

I think he might get spoiled.

I feel bad locking him away from the other kitties, but this way he'll see me most of my waking hours, and it'll give him a chance to feel comfortable with me too. Here's hoping he likes tons of attention. ;)

I'm going to be anxious all day tomorrow until his plane lands and I see that he made it safely! I still feel bad that the poor dear will be stuck in a small carrier for at least 10 hours. :(

I do have a large carrier to transfer him in for the last two hours of his journey, at least! I think it is 26" x 18.5" x 16.5...

Can you tell I'm excited? ;)

Spoiling my cats so far has only resulted in tolerant, sweet personalities, so there's no reason to stop now. ;)

Hi! Your new kitten is lovely. :) Is he from Calcatta by any chance? I recognise him because I was prowling the web researching for the cats/catteries in my kitten's pedigree. I just wanted to see what their forebeas look like. I have to say, Calcatta Custom Made is my favourite, he is such a gorgeous cat. He is my kittens great-grandfather, so my kitty and yours might be related? :D

I hope your kitty will arrive not too stressed by the long flight, I'm sure he'll settle in with you and your gang in no time.

Yup! His grandfather is Custom Made, who had the same mother as my Yuki.

I believe CM is the father of both of this kitten's parents. (they had different mothers)

When I get the little guy home, I plan to immediately bring him upstairs to the room he'll be quarantined in. I'll take the door off of the carrier and keep it where he can have somewhere to feel safe, if he needs it. :)

I've always left a carrier open that way for my other cats too, so they don't associate it with travel. It makes it easier to take them to the vet when they'll walk right in.

Btw, I adore the name Hazel. My grandmother's name was Hazeline, and I plan to name a daughter Hazel some day in honor of her.

Ack, I'm feeling a little anxious for him already.

I'm pretty sure his breeder already has him packed up and in a car on the way to the airport (because it is a long drive to it), but his flight doesn't leave for another three and a half hours.

Then his flight will take six hours... then he'll have a two hour drive from where we're picking him up to get him here to our home.

Poor babe! I hope he won't be too stressed out. :/ What a big change this is going to be for him! Being taken from the only place he's ever known, going into a dark, noisy plane, then to a completely different place he's never been to with none of his kitty companions he's used to. :(

I'll be calling within the next hour to go ahead and schedule a vet appointment for him for tomorrow or the next day. His breeder told me he had an exam just yesterday and that all went well.

I still haven't picked out a name for him, either! Maybe one will leap out at me when I finally see him in person. :)

Aww, thank you!

I just set up an appointment for him tomorrow at 3pm. The receptionist had to put his name in as "No name yet". I told her perhaps I'll actually name him that. ;)

I think I'll make an appointment for my two girls for Saturday, too... just to make sure they're also still healthy. I'd take them earlier, but I need my much larger than me boyfriend to help carry them. Their carriers are huge!

Edit:

His breeder just called to let know know he's been dropped off, and his flight will be leaving in half an hour!

I'll have him in hand six and a half hours from now. :)

Edit:

From Continental's cargo site:
1 Piece Departed 1/20/2009 on Flight CO 1594 to IAH

lol...

I guess it is better than two pieces!

I can't wait to see how he is either... unfortunately he's on a connecting flight, and that is due to land in about an hour. I'm keeping a close eye on the flight tracker!
