Hello all, I thought that you might like a bit of an update on Sparky. We now call him Sparticus as that was his original name on his papers (the rescue center gave us a copy of his breed line) We also thought a change of name for him would be good so he doesn't have any tie to his horrible start in life. :(
Over the past year he has come on leaps and bounds. One of the biggest break throughs is that only last week he jumped up on the sofa while I was sat on it and curled up and went to sleep all evening. A year ago this was unheard off. You couldn't even be in the same room while he was eating as he got to scared. He is also happy to be in the room as my husband and will even eat out of his hand now. He is now fairly comfortable to be picked up by me (as long as its not for to long!)
Sparticus and my other cat Sunni are now firmly good friends. One thing that we found out was that it seems as thought both cats came from the same breeder in Lincolnshire and both have ended up with us, so if a funny way I think they might be related. Sunni is a bengal x and Sparticus is a pure Bengal (Small world! but doesn't say much about the original breed as both have ended up in rescue situations!)
I've attatched some pictures for you all to see so hopefully you can see the diference. They were both taken about 1 1/2 months ago.
This was the original picture that was posted on pets4homes when he was advertised for sale....

And now this is him all settle in his new home after all the help from everyone on this site...

Sorry all the pictures are so big but i've not figured out the re-sizing yet!

Thank you once again to everyone....its taken alot of work by everyone involved and hopefully seeing the new improved Sparticus you can all see how much it was worth it.

I will keep you all updated with Sparticus and his progress

Alexandra, Sparticus and Sunni

I wasn't around a year ago so unfortunately don't know the background. But he does look a handsome and contented cat.
I bet you are really proud of him. :D

thankyou so much for the update,
the piccies actually brought a little lump to my throat!
he looked so sad & scared when we first saw him & just look at him now!
is it me or does he seem to have a huge contented smile on his face these days?!
you've done wonders with him, well done you!
how weird that sunni was from the same breeder too...thank goodness they both ended up with you.

Congratulations to you and Sparky. It's been a difficult time but he's progressed so much. You must be so proud of him (and yourself!) to see what a happy boy he's become :D

I love a happy ending :D

That has made me so happy - I cant believe that a year has passed since me and OH drove around totally lost for over an hour when we went to pick up this gorgouse boy. He was so scared and unhappy.

It is fantastic to see him looking so happy and content - well done for giving him a lovely life x
